What are the commands for ‘blood splatter’ and ‘blood flash’?
Blood commands
I’ve seen people turning off blood/gibs in quake 3. It gives you a little advantage because sometimes there’s that much blood on screen that you don’t see anything (i .e. someone directly in front of you is hit by a rocket).
Correct me if im wrong, but cant it simply be set on or of in the ingame options menu :???:
… which is weird, 'cos it’s dead useful when you’re shooting at someone you basically can’t see (in covops smoke for example) since it lets you know when you’re hitting them.

No, these settings control the blood flash and splatter that show up when you get hit. I for one do not think it’s a good idea to turn them off completely, as they give a visual clue that you’re getting hit and from which direction you get shot at (the location of the splatter show the “side” you get hit). Setting the alpha levels about halfway between opaque and transparent works best for me.

Correct. I like to turn OFF the ‘flashing’, but a little splatter (medium) to indicate where the opponent is. I prefer to keep as much configuration in the autoexec.cfg as possible.
