BLOCKOUT WEDNESDAYS: Canary Wharf, Battersea and 'Map 6'

Canary Wharf - First time playing it in about 5-6 weeks. It’s still my least favorite map in the game. I like the first phase and really don’t care for the rest. 2nd phase just feels like a long narrow corridor. Never did like the final phase. Making making it a little less vertical so it doesn’t feel like you are shooting fish in a barrel would be a step in the right direction. I really don’t care for this map at all and have disconnected 3 times now when it comes up (and then rejoin for the other 2)

Battersea - I am really enjoying this map, although I have not played it enough to fully understand it and know all of the routes. I love that it has some nice open areas. The final D spawn is quite awful. Spawned in several times with 2-3 enemy players looking at me from across the map. It’s also too easy to airstrike camp.

Map 6 - Have only played it 1-2 times. Liking it a lot so far. We camped the hell out of the other team so it seems like there is definitely a major choke area that could probably be addressed, unless I am missing something (next to the garage with the ramp on top of the forklift). Love the roof access.

Canary Wharf
Still not keen on this one, too linear. 1st objective is ok, the others (esp. the second) end up as sniper wars (probably due to the bodyshot sniper damage being OP atm).

Battersea
The first objective is pretty good, the ladders are suicide though. Def get choked to death going up that ladder to the little platform over the obj as well - easy to camp them with molotovs etc. 2nd obj is good fun. 3rd objective was either full hold with def camping the objective (again they spawn too close to it) or as prophett said, airstrike spam making it impossible to defuse if def don’t hold it. Had a lot of full-holds on the first objective though if def camp the forward spawn (high ground makes it hard to break out of spawn for attack).

Map 6
Had fun on this map though it is basically TDM. Sniper heaven from the rooftops. Always seem to lose the map despite holding both points?

Battersea

This map is becoming my favourite, it’s like a tug of war controlling the cranes and that, guess toka would love the map too, he was always banging on about a bridge objective that could be reversed. I think the area where the container is dropped to needs some work, not sure what can be done to help at the moment, not really played the map that much.

Canary Wharf

Yesterday was my first time playing this start to finish, on the first few stages there are some paths with very long line of sight making it ideal for snipers and campers. Don’t really have much else to say, I kept getting ‘lost’ as in I had no idea what was happening with objectives and such, can’t really give much more feedback till learned the map.

Map 6

Still no idea what to do here.

Battersea and Canary Wharf seemed problematic from the three or so rounds I played on each of them yesterday. Every round quickly devolved into frustrating meatgrinds. The first part of Battersea is also plagued by having many ladders, all of which are frustrating and suicidal to use because of the way they currently work. Map 6 seemed quite promising, however, with the roof access routes being a highlight for me.

Funny logic Vio

Sniper must be OP because everyone uses it on obj 2 and 3 (and not on obj 1, whoops)! And not at all because probably the obj 2 and 3 are more open and more boring

My logic is sound as a £ :D. Obj 1 has a lot more cover for both teams. Obj 2 & 3 have very defensible camping spots for snipers (e.g. there is a container thing on the 3rd obj which you can hide in and regen all day until you get headshot). Obj 2 is too open though yeah, but its still linear.

Soooo… we gonna remove passwords?

Passwords are gone!

(Wezelkrozum) #51

Whoohoo! Let’s start Blockout Thursnights!

(RasteRayzeR) #52

We need a server for block-outs yeah, that would motivate me a lot to finish mine …

(Seiniyta) #53

I’d like mine tested or Jonny reply to my pm I’ve sent a while ago :stuck_out_tongue: (though I did say, when he has time :stuck_out_tongue: )

(Seanza) #54

He’s on holiday just now!

(Seiniyta) #55

That explains  I’m not in a rush. Just good to know.

(Smooth) #56

Servers are now open till late!

(Hundopercent) #57

I agree. I’m not a fan of Battersea or Canary Wharf. Map 6 seems pretty nice though.

(RasteRayzeR) #58

Map 6 rocks ! But Canary Wharf is good too. I’ve seen some good action in it lately

(INF3RN0) #59

I get less than 100fps on even blockouts now. Oh dear.

(Toomic) #60

Passwords are gone until late, have fun!
