Blaster Charge-Up Shot

(XVI the Great) #1

I tried searching the cached ETQW forums with little luck. Has anyone found a viable use for this? I find it to be a downgrade since it reduces RoF becuase the game thinks you want to charge the weapon. I am also very disappointed with Akimbo becuase you can’t zoom in, very inaccurate… I’d rather just have the “stock” light weapons.

(murka) #2

umm, charge the blaster before jumping out of corner and headshot will do quit a lot of dmg, then pop some more and dead.

(ED209) #3

The real problem with Akimbo is that it chews up your pistol ammo big timw. Always have a field ops follow you round.

(Szakalot) #4

i believe a charged headshot is an instakill on a non-soldier.

(signofzeta) #5

I feel that they should allow you to used single pistol or regular blaster as a weapon of choice like in Wolf ET just because you lose the zoom ability in akimbo, and you lose the rate of fire in charged blaster.

Charged blaster is actually beast if you know how to use it.

(lister-absurd) #6

Well its hard to say since you see it so infrequently but a charge blaster shot i don’t think leaves a visible trail, so you can use it as a close range sniper rifle without the obvious effect. Akimbo’s are neat but also not worth the effort. Think of them more as status kills than useful parts to the game. Neither is as useless as say the gdf coverts portable jammer which some players seem to have randomly without the level 4 ability. Oh and don’t get me on faster disguise…

(Szakalot) #7

faster disguise is useless.

radar jammer can be incredibly effective, depending on the players you fight with. I sometimes find myself looking only at the radar for most of the time, and going back to my crosshair when i know who, in what number, and from where is/are coming.

a radar jammed covy can be deadly to that tactic.

Charged blaster is a one shot kill if charged and headshot. Making it great
I always charge it up in scope, since that way the spread is tons better and its nearly always a headshot.

Akimbos are great imo, reduced weapon spread makes up for the lack of scope and they have double the ammo. Making it a fantastic close range weapon. Iv used these babys countless times instead of the AR mainly because of the coolness factor, but in fairness they do kill alot also.

Akimboz are beast. Nothing more to be said.

Nothing beats killing players with an akimbo

phewphew phewphew phewphew, awesome :stuck_out_tongue:

(XVI the Great) #11

I had no idea it would be an insta-kill if headshot charged (Bad grammar, I know).

I still feel the Akimbo pistols are a downgrade becuase of the decreeased range. It really hurts my accuracy also, too.

(Senethro) #12

They’re not a downgrade because of increased range because its wrong to use pistols at long range anyway.

(Ryan) #13

They have increased range, but it’s wrong to use them for long range?

(Apoc) #14

he means that pistols ability to shoot slightly further is irrellevant anyway since you only use close combat, so the increased ammo capacity makes them an upgrade

(light_sh4v0r) #15

Play Duskmod, you’ll want akimbo’s over the regular pistol any day

I would have to hack my 360 for that to happen.

(brbrbr) #17

sure.
just install Win Vista on this, after hack and here you go[4 it].
and/or Linux w/WINE[more easily done].

That didn’t really tell me how to hack a 360. It was just a suggestion to install Vista @-@. Besides, the only, and hear me, ONLY reason I’d hack my 360 is to make custom ETQW maps. Now that’s coolsauce.

All you do is rip open your 360, take every component out of it, except the component that deals with the video and audio and stuff, oh yeah, you want to keep the disc drive too. Then get a PC, and shove its components into your 360, then find a way to get the audio and video and disc drive on your PC to connect to the existing audio and video and disc drive on the xbox 360. Also make sure that every component can fit into the 360 without any overheating and stuff. Also make sure that you keep the USB ports to plug in mice and usb keyboards.

There, you have a PC that has an outer shell of an xbox 360.

Make sure your 360 is out of warranty first.

sure, best “Console” is HTPC.
and because well-available/priced of tiny[enough 4 home usage]barebones, usability and feats will only benefit from it.

p.s.
my best HTPC case is PVR-alike case for mATX/mITX mainboards.
