Black screen

Hi i,m new to this forums i bought a HD4560 512 and since then have not been able to play QW as it crashes. Soon as i enter the gaming area it goes to a black screen i can still hear the action for a short period then i have to hard reset. I have no problems with any other games apart from this one. I have the latest video driver i updated Punk buster and reinstalled the game it still goes to a black screen after a few seconds. I use win xp

black screen is usually a graphics driver problem, what vid card do you have ?

btw, have you updated game to latest version ?

Probably a video driver issue, but have you overclocked your system at all? I find most of my crashes are a result of severe overclocking compounded by inadequate cooling resulting in a system that is 99% stable but as it gets warmer in the house I start to have similar problems. If you are OC’ing, restore your system to default speeds and try again.

Yeah sounds like an overheating issue of some kind

i will try and see if the OC profile i have is the cause it was not a problem before. I just moved to a new ATI 4650 512 mb video card and have the latest 10.5 drivers. Every other game works fine though thats the annoying bit :mad:

Have you tried playing the game with default settings? With this I mean no tweaks, nothing in your autoexec.cfg etc., just a plain install and using the default driver settings for your video card.

If this works, you can start to change things to your liking and see if and where it goes wrong. Just don’t change too many things at the same time.
