hellooo can someone help me please ??? i,m going crazzy … i`m using 3DMAX 7 to make my model all good … i,m exporting the file todesktop like model.3ds after i,m importing model.3ds with MilkShape than exporting the file model.md3 … all good … i,m running ET i,m selecting my model and it apears in black & orange – no skin — plz tel me what did i do wrong ??? if somenwone can tell me how to make a weapon model ? what files do i need to make my model work ? :banghead: :???:

cos ur needed the texture from the texture folder in the game its a bit more complex than just giving ur model a texture then exporting as a md3

i never used max only milkshape but does max require you to qrite a qc control file or something, if you do post it up here then ill tell you what do

weare can i get to “the texture folder” ??? i must create this … sorry i dont understand this s..t .... so u tell me that i purchase the license for 3d max 7 and i cant do enithing with him ??? :banghead: f…kkk … I cant start modeling in MilkShape it s_ks :angry: :frowning: :disgust:

you have to create a cq file with milkshape I think??

ayou meen qc ??? well wen i export my model with milkshape first i go to "tools–>quake3arena–>generate control file—> first i save the model.qc than the model.md3 …

Hmmm, that should be right, do you adjust some of the parameters to fit your model?
(sry if i’m being not really clear but I’m doing all of this out of my mind, got no milkshape here)
So make sure your paths, names and textures are named right

ok … to be clear … ex: i take the “colt” model --> i take the ss_colt.mdc + v_colt.mdc ( i think this are the weapons model ) than i importing this 2 files in MilkShape —> in the ss_colt.mdc model is a hand with the gun -ok- i leave the hand theare and i replace the gun with my model ( same size & poz. ) — > in the end i have a hand holding my model —> now im exporting the model like ! ss_colt.md3 ! and i delte the original one ss_colt.mdc -----> after that im editing this file wepons/colt.weap ( the line – “models/weapons2/colt/ss_colt.mdc” – to “models/weapons2/colt/ss_colt.md3” ) ----> the skin ( colt_yd.tga ) i painted with red ( in photoshop 8 ) … now if anybody knows wath file i must “edit” or “creat” “modify” etc… to get my model work… ??? i have a great mod in my had and i`v got the time to do it ( 14H/day ) … :smiley:

Ehr, it’s quite common that there’s no reply for a few days. And mostly that won’t come from Splash Damage, as they’re currently working on their new game.

If no-one’s answered in at least a week you could ‘bump’ it again by making a post. But keep it readable please. Your 2nd last post could use some capitalized characters at the start of a sentence and some newlines. It surely would give more reading pleasure. :wink:

Also, anything over 16 question marks is pushing the edge. 15 is fine, 17 might start a riot. I’ve seen it. And you’re missing an ‘o’ on your ‘hello’

Are there any messages in your console? such as ‘shader xxx has missing texure in stage blah blah?’

Hate Ms3D ? Get ‘Blender3d’ or something else if you feel you’re competent enough.


In max you need for your shaders name to be the full path to the shader > i.e. making the materials name the full path to the texture > textures/newgun/gun4.jpg

Now to get to the issue…what EXACTLY is wrong at this point ?

i need to know to replace a model in ET. wath i have to do or need ? i know that i must have (create) “model.md3” “model.tga” “weapon.cfg” this is all ??? i cant find a good tutorial for weapons model just maping maping maping …maping is to easy … if u wana know wath im capabile take a look at this .... :P http://www.geocities.com/cemainickam/contor_screenshot.gif it is a i-cafe contor station for linux ..... this was boring ... yeah ... so i decidet to work on some mod but im stok :frowning: … my model looks good but the skin is not theare … the weapon apears in black-orange and that makes me crazzzzyyyy :D :D :D .... im using PackScape (pak0.pk3) - MilkShake(.qc-md3) - Photoshop(tga) … ! if u wana help plz be my guest :slight_smile:
