When i start my RTCW:ET i see the opening window (with all the commands and stuff) is full of unsafes and crashes. When its all started up i can join and all, but after a few minutes my game crashes and i can only reset. I have reinstaalled a few times with virus scan and everything but it keeps doing this.
What the hell is wrong? :banghead:
Big crash
i ahd that happen a bunch of times until i woudl get into a game and it would just give me really bad video lag, so i just said screw it and completly deleted it off my comp and then redownlaoded it and it worked fine.
if you want me to direct ip wolfet.exe i can.
Well its like this.
I unistaled already like 5 times. and i reistalled it 5 times too,but it still does that, but one time i just hade a connection interrupted that wouldn’t stop.
i know, after uninstall you have to delete the folder in your pf in your c:\ and then when you reinstall itll ask you to create a new profile, then you know your safe.
the connection could have been bad also?!?
Every time i uninstalled i deleted everything in my instal folder exept the instal files so i could reinstall again
look in your program files and see if there is still a folder called wolfenstein: enemy territory. if there is then delete it.
alrite, make sure you completely delete it off your comp, even out the the recycle bin.
your gonna ose all you custom maps though.
Could be an incompatible driver, or even overheating.
I’d try some other driver version (not necessarily newer) if I were you.
nah, cause i had the same problem and tried that, its not a driver problem its a bad pk3 file thats being circulated. it does somthing to et video.
It still crashes.
:banghead: If its a bad pk3 file, can you send me a correct one. my email is louis.maas@mailcity.com
If you’ve done a clean install (where you deleted the ET folder after uninstalling) it most likely is not a bad pk3. Sure, you could download ET again to rule out the small possibility of a corrupt file that the installation program isn’t detecting, but I don’t think that’s the problem.
Posting your system specs and driver versions (at least for your GFX card) would be a nice start.
BTW, you can disable Punkbuster and try a server without PB to rule that out. Entering “/pb_system 1” in the may help if PB is causing the crash.
My driver is the newest Nvidia driver :version 52.16
My system specs are:
Nvidea Geforce4 Ti 4200
AMD Athlon XP2000+
What else do you wanna know?
There’s been talk that the 52.16 nVidia drivers cause crashes when combined with punkbuster. Well punkbuster causes the crash not the drivers.

Try downgrading your video driver to an older version. I was having a similar crash when I installed the 52.16 drivers. I got rid of them and now everything is back to working fine.
try using old asylum drivers, those work great. i had a simalar problem with some nvidia shaders with delta force BHD.
Well that was great to play again.
But for now it works because i deactivated Punkbuster. (noob as i am at some areas) :???: i have no clue how to downgrade my drivers. At the Nvidea site its easy to upgrade ut downgrade.
PS: i upgraded because Call of Duty was giving graphical probs. I hope that with 1 downgrade i don’t get that screwed up :disgust:
All you got to do to downgrade is uninstall your current driver and install the older drivers. You might still have the older drivers if you look in the nvidia directory under C:\ All the driver folders have a setup executable in them if you want to reinstall it.
To make sure you completely uninstall the Detonator there’s a tool, called Detonator Destroyer or some such, that wipes out all the registry settings and the inf files so that you’ll get a clean driiver reinstall without fragments of the old (new that you’re getting rid of) Detonator drivers laying around.
