(=BesT=KiLLeR) #1

Hello all,

I have install this game and the same day, i have play on it.
But, one day later, i will play, but i have a error : Hunk_Alloc failed on 986848.

I have uninstall the game, i have play on it one times, and the second time when i would like to play on it, i have see this error again.

Can you say me what can i do to resolve this error ?

thank you in advance

it looks like it was unable to allocate itself the correct ammount of memory, how much ram do you have?

Unfortunately we dont have the resources here to help with technical support issues on ET. I suggest you try the following forum first:

after you install and play

then reboot and it does not work

try deleting the etconfig.cfg file in the main directory…forget the name and am posting from work and don’t have it installed :frowning:

then try running it again…

try using these settings (just bring down the console and type them in, or change them in your /etmain/etconfig.cfg file):

seta com_hunkMegs “224”
seta com_soundMegs “32”

Also, before you play disable your virus scanners and close down any other programs you have running (ICQ, MSN. etc.).

You really don’t want to set your hunkmegs that high unless you have at least 512 MB of memory. hunkmegs shouldn’t be more than 3/4 of your total ram, and you may get better load times with less.

I just realized the topic of this thread is “Big Bud on…etc”

Heheheh. Not that I do that or anything…

From what I have read, the total of the hunkMegs, soundMegs, and zoneMegs should not be more than 3/4 of your memory. Also, there appears to be no advantage to making soundMegs and zoneMegs greater than 32.

He said he had 382mb. I assume this is 3 128mb cards, which actually totals 384mb (ok, its really a little more but we don’t need that kinda granularity). 3/4 of 384 is 288. Apply 32 each to soundMegs and zoneMegs and that leaves you 224. Somehow, I don’t think that I got the same value as Lt.Jones by accident.

So he should be able to use the following settings:
seta com_hunkMegs “224”
seta com_soundMegs “32”
seta com_zoneMegs “32”

However, the footprint of other applications will use up available memory too. Make sure other programs are closed (AIM, etc…). Your OS will take up a certain amount as well. WinXP is notorious for being a memory hog - but I am uncertain as to how much memory it requires.

“granularity”

Strange I envisioned Dawg as a young teen tearaway/hooligan/lout, but not with fuckin’, big assed, clever fuck words like that yonder.

Coo, you’re so clever :D.

Those were good games the other night Dawg boy, what was the name of that 50 man server again ?

I almost shit it when after my first map and someone said they were gonna vote me off, I was on ventrilo with a few clan mates getting quite irate about it whenever I noticed it was penned by the flea bitten whore known as “Dawg”, also whats the clan tag you were wearing ? You got a website I can pollute ?
