Don’t know. Could be, but it looks real… At least i havent seen that screenshot before and it doesnt look like anything else but ET:QW. Still teh resolution is weird: 1024x575. But when doing this x1.25 you will get 1280x718, almost 1280x720 which is the HDTV 720p resolution. The weird thing about that is that 720p a resolution is for XboX 360 where most laptops/widescreen monitors for pc’s use 1280x800… At least a nice wallpaper for me :slight_smile:

“Press esc and use the start menu to play” sounds a bit weird, why not something like “PRess L to open enrolement menu”?

Doesnt sound that weird to me, it still is a beta! I am now doing research on pictures of ET:QW on teh web.

Still why this: “Waiting for players” while there was a teamikill and this incoming fireball. Seems they are playing already…

The big firewall and the chopper behind the tree look a bit like ETQW tho, but the text style of the how to play text is a bit like HL2 ;\

Paranoid, maybe all players didnt write /ready in console and its still warmup mode with damage. Resolution is weird because its resized from 1600x1200 (4:3) for better effect.

Sorry but this was stupid, I now know its fake because: If you would resize 4:3 into 16:9 the picture would be stretched! The text devenately isnt.

id say fake, but not a bad attempt at it… there just certain little details that make it seem fake
spelling mistakes: Granade (grenade), explode (exploded)
unlikely even in beta they would make those mistakes

the chopper and fireball dont seem to blend in aswell as in the other screenshots

a bit of a coincidence that it appears on the april 1st

im sure SD wouldnt allow their staff to be giving out screenshots unless officially decided on, and that doesnt look like an official screenshot, too little going on. So if the guys uncle does work for SD, hes likely to be in big trouble.

fair enough it could be real, but it doesnt look like it, yes it says ID and SD people are playing, but that can easily be faked. ill admit the actually terrain is something i havnt seen, but then again, ive not seem a large amount of game terrains, and in some ways it does look like ET:QW, good graphics, looks like a big map.
but if your gonna take a screenshot of a highly anticipated game, then is there a point in taking one with very little going on in the actual picture (1 vehicle, a fireball, nothing else)… id expect if it was a real screenshot, it would have more going on, explosions, soldiers, strogg, vehicles, buildings, etc.
