best gun for covert ops?

Which gun is best for the covert ops? I’m trying to figure out which of the three is best for different situations. Any experienced CovOps have any insight to share?

I like the sten as i like 2 get up close and personal!! :cool:
but i think the co ops should have or be able 2 get any gun :banana:

I personally don’t like the FG42, the spread is so bad that it is usefull for close quarter combat only but than will blow your disguise for Level 1-3 CovOps. Haven’t tried it but it’s probably the same if you snipe with the FG42 because it’s not silenced.

I don’t like the Sten that much therefore the rifle is my favorite weapon. Good for sniping and usefull in close combat. Only disadvantage: small ammo loadout and the US garand can only be reloaded if the ammo clip is completely emptied.

At first, I wished covops could pick up the Thompson or mp40 but over the past week I’ve found the sten (which i NEVER used before) is actually kinda fun. Going up against 3,4 guys with a sten and taking them all out is awwwsome fun when you can pull it off.

FG 42 for sure :slight_smile:
Imo, the Sten only is fun as long as you’re able to fire it (no1 looking at you) in some1’s back… Might have to do with my shitty rig, and getting about 10 FPS once i am in a situation, described before, with 4 enemies :wink:

The FG42 i found to be a very effective sniper rifle (it also takes two shots), or at least you weaken them down on medium range.

And n close combat it has proven me more worthy then for instance the Sten.

I like the FG42. It’s great at close range (rate of fire) and great at long range (does more damage when scoped), but unfortunatley terrible at mid-range. When dressed as an enemy though you’ll want to make sure to switch to an unscoped pistol though because seeing an engineer/medic/field ops/soldier running around with a FG42/Sten/Silenced Garand/Silenced Pistol is a dead giveaway someone is a covert ops in disguise.

Don’t like the FG42 - too weak to snipe, too wild for medium ranged combat and unsilenced. For medium range combat or sniping, it has to be the rifle. For when the action gets up close and personal, I switch to the sten.

Sometimes I use the rifle for close combat too, simply because it’s useful to be able to scope it from time to time.
