I’ve been trying to find interesting or at least unique Brink videos to watch on Youtube.
Any suggestions??
Doesn’t have to be Youtube.

I like this one because it shows the most gameplay I believe. http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/55576/Brink-E3-2010-HD-Direct-Feed-Gameplay-Movie
4:10 he’s making a good point about the radar
and i hope SD will change it.
What do u think ???
Watched it yesterday. I don’t think the radar is going to break the game. But I don’t really know the context of his commentary: When did he play the game? How close was it to the final build? I would assume that the radar changed since the version he played.
He probably played it at Eurogamer, which was in London I believe.
And from what I know, that was the latest build.
Its not game breaking, but it does devalue battlesense.
You kinda need radar these days, to make the game less intimidating.
mmm i’m not happy about the radar, it’d be ok if it only showed your teammates but why enemies? Even if it’s just when they are close it doesnt make any sense, i hope they get it removed or at least change it to show only allies.
I think this is the first thing i hear about brink im not happy about

What do u think ???[/QUOTE]Full ack. That’s one thing I didn’t like at all in ETQW as well. In some situations it was easier to play with radar alone than even watch the screen. A blip every few seconds makes so much more sense than showing the exact position and movement of the enemies all the time.
Ive made seperate thread for the radar as i didnt like it either but some info u should know is:
1)You are being shown on radar when u sprint ,shoot or you in an enemy’s crosshair
2)There is an ability(perk) that let u sprint without being shown on radar
3)The radar radius is small compared to other fps and doesnt include minimap(glad for that)

Theres auto-spotting and then there’s radar.
Auto-spotting:
When you’re within a certain radius of the enemy, and you run or shoot - you pop up on the radar screen. It kind of emulates the way good players respond to sound.
Also the perk you’ve posted about, is in relation to this.
Radar:
When a player is killed, and they are in an incapacitated state waiting to be revived… an operative can walk up to them and interrogate them. After the interrogation, everyone on the other team is shown on radar for a certain amount of time.
Are you talking about the skill of the players or elements demonstrated? After watching that you can’t imagine yourself playing that game and having fun with the “new ET”?

well, that’s better i guess.
So i would only appear in the other players radar when im close and shooting/sprinting?
That means that if i get that perk, i could still use smart to sneak behind someone without appearing on his radar right?

If you have the run+shoot perk, you dont get spotted firing your weapon and running near an enemy. Wihen a teammate of yours is interrogated, you will show up on radar.

I don’t think you have to shoot to be spotted, just in the enemies line of sight (or crosshairs)

I don’t think this is correct. I believe running and shooting to avoid radar is accomplished by 2 methods, not a combined “run+shoot” perk.
1 - to counter the running part, you would get the silent footsteps ability
2 - to counter the shooting part, you would equip your gun with a silencer.
At least that’s what I think.
I didnt mention the visual spotting, because I thought that was a bit obvious.
The perk, I actually was mistaken - it allows you to be undetected on radar while sprinting not shooting.
Shooting is countered by silencers.
I’m not a fan of radar in general either, I don’t like this kind of automated versions of battle awareness (open your ears) and communication between players (spotted players).
