Best Brink videos?

(DoHo) #21

Is it just me or do the animations here look really bad? Particularly about 3/4 through when there’s a few downed/incapacitated enemies struggling to get back up, and later when a team mate runs up the stairs? The animations look very poor. I don’t recall seeing that in any other videos. Maybe it’s a console thing? :stuck_out_tongue:

Agreed on that, this video shows a gameplay choppy as hell, and almost no animation.

From E3:2009 demo booth…quote from http://www.nowgamer.com/news/624/e3-brink-impressions

“Brink is a pretty game. Let’s put some emphasis on that. Brink made us double-check to see if that was actually a 360 our host was using to show the game on. Twice. Those screenshots do not lie even one little bit.”

And that was nearly 2 years ago. I’m sure SD will deliver a solid product that performs well on any platform it is designed for, including character animations. YES, I’m aware of consoles being limited to 1080p and will probably be capped at 30 fps (maybe 60 if we are lucky), and that PC’s (powerful enough ones that is) can run it at 2141324,1245235123,234532 x 2352,j5j46k245623kj4134jk resolution at 124514 fps across 9 screens, and that’s great…for all of you that can do that. My pc is a bit dated (q6600 and dual 8800 gt’s in sli and I don’t overclock) but I’ll still be able to enjoy it at 1080p and at least 30 fps on my 24 inch monitor and I’m cool with that.

Disclaimer: I’m currently planning my first gaming PC build that should be able to handle the game at the above stated specifications and then hopefully I’ll be bragging about my PC in the near future. So, I’m not hating (or trolling…I’ll apologize for my sarcasm), just stating my opinion that great graphics do not = great gameplay. Though, when the two mesh well, it does translate to a better experience overall.

console games run in 720p if you’re lucky…
black ops even runs at 1040x608 on the 360 and 960x544 on ps3.

the consoles only upscale the images to fit on to a 1080p screen, and upscaling further reduces image quality…

it’s all stupid marketing, they’re allowed to use the 1080p sticker because the game will run with 1080p TV’s, it doesnt mean it really runs with that resolution.

E3 2009 was 2 years ago, I think they showed us container city gameplay there first, wich was played on PC and not on consoles, they just used the xbox controller.
im not sure though.

yeah, the problem in that video is that movenent/animations are to stiff, i dont recall seeing that in any other video so hopefully they’ve been working on that

(Auzner) #27

It’s the PS3 version from 8 months ago. There will probably be many improvements by May.

(Herandar) #28

There really are very few videos out there, aren’t there?

(trigg3r) #29

I’ve never seen this before, very informative.

The sticky bomb sounds like a fun/sneaky tool
