Before I do this....

Ok, I decided i’m gonna pull in loose ends and buy a new video card.
Right now I have a GeForce MX 420. I’m most likley going to get a GeForce TI 4600 (or wait… is it 4200)… well whatever… one of those TI’s.
My system specs are great except for my video card.
AMX XP 2.0 GHZ
512 Ram
GeForce MX 420
Would anyone like to tell me what kind of FPS they get on there TIs? And if you would recommend anything else to me. (Don’t recomomend Radeons… I don’t like radeons…)

Well right now I have a ATI 9500 and it runs flawless… But if your not a fan of the ATI’s, which you stated, I would go with a GF4 Ti 4600… If you do get that card, you wont even have to consider looking at your FPS with almost every game out there. The TI 4600 is most likely better than the 9500, and my 9500 runs ET with no problems at all…None. So all and all I’d go with the 4600. Enless your budget is a problem. The 4600 goes for $180 acording to www.Pricewatch.com and for some funky reason the 4800 is only $142. So if I were you, I’d go and buy the 4800 while its still down. Enless for some strange reason the 4600 is better than the 4800…

Happy Shopping

I cant remember what i heard about the FX series… For some reason I remember hearing there not that good.

Edit: What I was told, is that the newest FX card isnt as good as the ATI 9800 pro… methinks

My brother has an FX, seems pretty good to me!

If your getting an FX try and make sure its an Ultra as they are the best FX to get,in saying this though the normal FX cards are also very good aswell and should run ET no problem.

Also from what ive read on various sites ,the higher range FX Ultra cards perform at a greater rate than the higher range ATI and GF cards.

if youre wanting to research vid card performance go to some proper hardware sites and find roundups. three of the “biggest” sites:

personally i’m sticking to my “doable” overclocked GF3ti200 and getting something closer to D3/HL2 release
