Been a year since a new map...7 months since a new merc.

What ever happened to the new map that we tested once?
Are we ever going to see Turtle or Javelin?

I do enjoy this game but I’m playing less and less and less because of the slow development. The game is becoming rather stagnant and I’m worried it will die a slow horrible death and wont even live to see 2017.

Not to mention the devs are times seem to cherry pick what to fix and what not to…buff the Hochfir which is one of the primaries of their beloved Proxy…but yet leave the under performing SMG-9 to become even worse.

Nerf Fletcher’s stickies which do less damage and have almost no AoE to speak of while you can toss a mine and clean up a whole room of people with it…a mine that is triggered through walls and kills people through said walls.

Nerf Snipers who are Proxy’s worst enemy if they can actually hit people…because she has no range…nerf machine pistols over and over again so it’s even harder to kill those bunnies on crack in close range.

This game is heading in the exact same direction that another F2P game I loved is going, except this game doesn’t have a super loyal fan base and doesn’t constantly use 80%+ of it’s development time to milk its whale as it pushes out new things to buy in the ever advancing power creep.

currently I believe they are working on bugs and some of the existing maps. I believe the plan is to focus more on newer content and other stuff after many bugs are addressed.

Im sure dockyard is mostly complete and i the fine tuning phase i wouldnt be suprised if either dockyard is finished or turtle is finished and there waiting for both to be ready so they can release both at same time so they can hopefully do another major event my 800k credits are overflowing my virtual wallet

Been a month since I got to play 6hours non-stop… SD is making me quit this game faster than the hack users.

Hard to develop a game if there’s nobody working on it m8.

I know someone will come in here and say ‘but but - summer squash! or but but it’s a beta!’

It’s all talk. We see no results, therefore nobody is working on the game. Feel free to prove me wrong SD (or anybody else).

But at this stage your word doesn’t hold much weight. You saying something doesn’t make it fact.

** cough WORKING AS INTENDED cough **

I know someone will rock up with the old comment ‘But they’re a small studio, they’re not Blizzard!’

Yeah. Hi Rez isn’t Blizzard either, yet they’re releasing a patch each month with new characters, weapons, skins, maps, game modes and so on.

Next?

I like how Execution is so irrelevant that Gallery has even been forgotten as a new map.

@grumpyBull, Hey did you notice the exit button works perfectly?

I hope SD could wise up to make a hotkey for it, rather than the game crashing itself.

Alt + F4?

(K1X455) #9

Have you tried it?

Alt+F4 was going to be non functioning to reduce rage quit.

Bugfixing and performances first. New content will come after.

The dev team wants to work on something clean before adding anything else. They let glitches and performance issues accumulate for a bit too long.

It took them half a year to actually get to a bug fixing patch? There is a difference between fixing bugs and just flat out being slowed to a snails pace…by the time the game is fixed and new content is released it will be dead.

This is by far the slowest development I’ve ever seen for every game I play…even more complex games like MMOs (And no I’m not talking about WoW and Blizzard)

But if we talk about MMO’s…they’re so much more complex than a shooter and yet they can get done…even for MMO’s that aren’t from a AAA studio like Blizzard.

A lot of that “cherrypicking” can be explained without this Proxy favouritism conspiracy theory or whatever.

For example, Fletcher is simply different. He’s supposed to be spammable, but you don’t want to spam something too OP. He has next to no cooldown on three explosives…
Proxy on the other hand has two, and a much greater cooldown.

You also need to consider that a lot of shotgun proxies actually use MPs. Doesn’t really make sense to nerf the range on those for a character with… no range?

The devs do pay attention to things. They might go overboard on some nerfs cough-REVIVR, but usually there’s still a reason behind them.
Not everything can be done at once either.

You should really subscribe to DB youtube channel. They provide a lot of info there

They are currently optimizing the existing maps and work on directx to improve performance. And Dockyard is still in development but will be out soon (probably)

(TheStrangerous) #15

Part of their team sustains Gears of War 4 multiplayer, thus SD are split.

(n-x) #16

Didn’t they say that DB is a Team of it’s own and not affected by other Projects?

(bushyg) #17

Hope 7 months was long enough, lol.

(TheStrangerous) #18

Extra pair of hands would always be useful.

(blonk) #19

Yep, they specifically said that in response to theories that other projects were impacting the dev rate of DB

Dirty bomb is a fun game.

Ultimately it is content that keeps interest (and money) in a modern game.

Refreshing the experience is key, its akin to books, film, entertainment of all types. You may have a favorite movie, though after you have watched it and analyzed it so many times, you require something more.

It is a potentially a rich time for gaming. Not many companies get it right, and faulter in adding new content or capitalizing on the aspects that make their game great\good\interesting.

It has been awhile since anything new came to Dirty Bomb. And that is fine, the game is free and can sustain some player numbers - though it seems it would hinder income to the title.

I check in from time to time, though sticking around is less enticing when bugs are still present during a time of proclaimed bug fixing focus. And no new content in sight.

And the Gallery map does not count, execution mode is stale and counter productive for a game that is built as a fast paced, objective based experience.
