Been a year since a new map...7 months since a new merc.

@K1X455 Well I wouldn’t say that it (the exit button) always works. Sometimes I have to reopen the exit menu to get it working again

(Sithas) #22

Thats just the start.
First they make it impossible to use alt+f4 to stop ragequiting.
Then they make it impossible to use the exit button to stop people from leaving.
When nobody is able to leave, nobody can claim anymore that the game is losing players and that the game is dying, so those threads stop appearing.
it’s all going according to plan

I’m waiting for them to add credits.
Because I’m really curious about how many people are working on it and what they’re doing.

I completely understand that bugfixing is the priority and new content takes some time, but it’s getting ridiculous to be honest.

Just to let you all know, the same mercs were in the game YEARS ago, like during the alpha. None of these mercs are new.

This dev team is horrible when it comes to addressing high priority community concerns in a way that pleases said community. We got new modes we never asked for and “balances” that go back and forth over the course of countless patches.

Imagine what maps and other changes would we have in DB, if it wasn’t for these execution game mode. I know there’s a very small minority who dig it, but it felt like a waste of resources at that time. Where’s Dockyard?

me too, I’m in there somewhere

Nerf Fletcher’s stickies which do less damage and have almost no AoE to speak of while you can toss a mine and clean up a whole room of people with it…a mine that is triggered through walls and kills people through said walls. [/quote]

I like the fletcher “nerf”, sticky bombs still do 100 if you direct stick and the aoe damage was way to much before the nerf. Hes still really good if you know how to play him and kinda crap if you can’t which is nice imo. (Played 85 hours with him pre nerf)

I do agree with the other stuff you’ve mentioned

I’ve reached the point where either I’m okay with playing the game as it is and everything after this is just a bonus or I should move on to other games. It’s just too frustrating to hope for features anymore cause it takes FOREVER for them to arrive and don’t even get me started on trying to request features.

I’d recommend to decide that for yourself, either it’s worth it to stay with the game in it’s current state, or you really should move on and stop being disappointed. I haven’t really made my decision yet.

Good advice tbh.

I started doing the same. I used to come onto the forums being incredibly negative about everything but after so much time passed I just decided to accept the game for what it is and accept the fact that the development is probably always going to be slow. It’s at the stage where I’m almost half convinced that the game will never leave beta, or if it does I’m expecting it to be many months or maybe even years down the track when it’s nothing but a memory for most of us.

I mean don’t get me wrong, I love the gameplay more than any game I’ve probably ever played and I’ll continue supporting the game until it dies, but I just find it hard to be optimistic about any new features or content because it just takes them far too long, so I kind of just expect to see none. Honestly after Dockyard is released I won’t be at all surprised if we never see another map or another merc.

I basically just like you, accept the game as it is as their final product with no expectations and if anything new and better does come out then I’ll welcome it kindly. I think ultimately I was kind of hoping the chicken corp was going to inject a butt load of money into the game, so they could expand their offices and turn Dirty Bomb into something huge with fast development, and I honestly still think that is possible - I don’t think it’s passed that possible turning point.

No other class-based multiplayer has versatile classes, like in DB.

It always has to be rock-paper-scissors mechanic.

(The_N00Ba) #31

well… Welcome back to reality guys. Seems like your hype finally wore off.
Definitely don’t feel you guys are alone in this. I think it is pretty obvious you are not.

Once the hype wears off and reality sets in, people seem to find that they must make a choice between continuing on the path they have chosen or start walking towards another. Such is the way with any relationship it seems.

Both can be quite hard to accept but in then end people have to make a choice or be stuck in a spiral of doubt.

No matter the choice any one in this situation picks, I have to say be proud of it. It’s your life. Make choices that help you live it the way you wish to.

If you wish to find other things then DO IT!
The right people will always respect you for your decision.

I think the thing to remember though is not matter what…
The hype will eventually die no matter the choice. The choice is still yours though. Find something that puts a smile on your face. Life is too short.

Bug fixing before all the base content is in the game is wrong. That reason alone is why I don’t see db ever making it out of beta. They should just add turtle and a couple more maps, go through the polishing phase then release. We can deal with more content when the game is finished, no point in events until we are out of beta. Events up to this point have been a distraction and most of the time underwhelming at best. Execution has been a huge flop that hasn’t and probably will never take off, it just doesn’t fit dirty bomb. Content creators have long gone and the comp scene is basically dead so if they don’t sort their game out then there will be no one left to play it.
Curious to know if anyone still spends real money on ingame items anymore? I can’t see why with all the anger that was in the community just a couple months back. I’ve spent money but if I was only just discovering this game I wouldn’t give it a penny saddly. I love SD and dirty bomb but the whole ‘bug fixing’ thing they are going through now is pointless when you consider the engine has a reputation for being buggy.
Please SD, just add the rest if the content then focus on bug fixing it or even have an opt in build where we, the community can offer our time in speeding up the process, been asking for something like this for so long, was told it existed then heard zero information about it after.

Only time i spend money is on events to support the devs but i would never waste on cases

And Yet Rome falls despite it was said to be immortal

And Yet The Cold War didnt go nuclear War despite the tension

And yet Trump become president despite the Odds was against him

“Maybe” the Dirty Bomb can get out of Beta.

Nobody knows what lies in the Future.

(TheStrangerous) #35

Least they could allow us to make custom content through SDK.

UT4 is in PRE-ALPHA, yet everyone is free to make their own map/mods/mutators.

(Pheromone) #36

Couldnt agree more, cant they understand that they can only keep interest in the game with new content, the update is nice, but thats not what is going to bring me at least back to the game,i want to try some new merc, map,or maybe a gun(shooter game…),not map improvments…

(Jostabeere) #37

it does not help to have a ton of maps and mercs, if the maps run like arse.

(wheatTier) #38

Been a year since a new map… 7 months since a new merc.
And I stop playing 6 months ago because of this. I loved this game but I don’t want to repeat the same mechanics in the same places over and over… This game needs content badly.

(GatoCommodore) #39

i say release all the mercs first then we get to see new maps since maps need consideration of all the mercs

(Sorotia) #40

But how long does it take to get the maps to run well? Should it take them years just to get them to run? I’ve been playing on and off for close to a year and a half now…and I know the game has been around for much longer.

I mean they said they slowed down Merc releases so they could work on the game more and not have to worry about balancing or even rebuilding the new mercs…when reality they just flat out slowed down to a snail’s crawl.
