I was playing a pub game last night as Axis, and got knocked off the rocks onto the beach by an Allied airstrike.

I was our team’s only engie, and by the time I’d respawned they’d already planted 2 dynos at the gun controls. :frowning:

easist way to win:

  1. Build assualt ramp

  2. Ignore west bunker, enter the front door.

  3. Plant at gun controls

  4. Watch the axis yell, “WHICH NOOB GAVE THEM THE UNIFORM!!!1”

On pub servers, make a suicide rush for the bunker flag as soon as possible. Most players don’t seem to switch their spawn point and the Axis will have to come from the barracks inside. Add this to their 30 second spawn cycle and it makes securing the front door much easier.

As Axis, holding down the command point bunker can be a viable defence. Your field ops guys will enjoy the faster charge times for their airstrikes, and coverts will be able to blow consecutive ramps much faster. The fixed MGs tend to be useless for this D, but mines along the path and panzerfausts tend to keep most would-be backdoor attackers at bay. Even if you do get overrun, you usually have enough time to get to the back door before a covert can get in disguise and organize an attack.

This is a tactic i like using and it works a lot. I have it sometimes were they have seen me run past them but just ignore me and leave me to go and plant, some players are so kind :slight_smile:

I got bored with playing Axis on that map. It’s far too easy on pubs.

Typical game I play on Battery cosists of few phases:

  1. Shooting mortar
  2. Realising that no one is skilled enough to play engy or covop well
  3. Changing to Covop, as ASSault ramp gets destroyed very easily
  4. Being teamkiled several times on my way back from bunker

I also want to chime in on how incredibly cool this tactic is. Tried it on three different servers last night and every time I was able to get into the gun room, plant, and win. The key is to do this before anyone touches the bunker flag. Once axis starts spawning inside you can stumble into a respawn wave and things get sour.

I’m not sure how to really defend against this aside from having someone lingering in the gun room or running patrols inside the base. Both options will be unattractive to people on pub servers, much like back door D. Besides, axis usually only have one engie on this map. Kill him after you plant and the map is won. =)

I hid in a corner and had entire axis spawn run past me, no one checked, I was just sittin there watchin em file out. I jes waltzed in, planted, and watched everyone but an engie come to gun controls. But thats just pub game silliness …

In a clan match, I can see this map bottlenecking bad at front door.

possible solutions to balance out this map:

1.make bridge destroyable only with two stachel charges or dynamite only
2.make backdoor or the iron gate next to it dynamite destroyable
3.make the generator unrepairable

I’d go for number 3 :banana:

Allies have it easy enough as it is. No need to make it easier for either team.

Hi all,
This map is really easy to win for allies. All you need is to have one decent mortar operator + one pzfaust/sniper to cover your engies and maybe one cvops to guard the back path. After climbing the ridge there should be plenty axis bodies to borrow uniforms from :banana: .
This always works unless you have very green teammates …
