Batlefield 3 players want Brink Medic system

(Je T´aime) #1

So I also play a bit of Bc2 and usually browse trought bf3 foruns and i found out that some players would like to see a brink medic system implement there.

In bc2 a medic uses a Defribulator and instant revives you, the issue with it is that sometimes you get revived in front of a enemy tank or in front of a enemy and since in bc2 the k/d is kinda important players get mad when they are revived and that happens.

Its cool to see that other games look at brink for some inspiration : D

Great. Next time I see my DICE pals, I bet they’ll list this as a reason to buy them drinks.

The more important problem with BC2 revive system is that when the medic train is rolling there is no way to stop it. I’ve played BC2 squad rush comp. on CB and it’s just ridiculous.

loool … I actually would like to have the BC2 revive system in Brink

That way I don’t have to deal the ‘lock-on’ issues when I want to revive quickly.

(Seiniyta) #5

Those who want that medic system just should play Brink

that was me

now you just need to adjust the F lock hierarchy. so stupid at map start you try to buff yet get pulled to the com post. or when you try to revive a fallen teammate it picks the guy next to you and buffs him - very annoying when you only have 1 pip left as a medic!

also, when i lock into someone it shouldnt deviate. on maps like CC as security you try to buff the soldiers, yet it often selects someone else. what about an outline on the guy? some maps the first few seconds are crucial

Ye i would like to be revived faster too but at least in brink you have the option to be revived or not and u choose when u revive yourself. In bc2 you get instant revived in front of enemys and u die again : D

(Azev2000) #9

DICE have already stated that they are providing the option to accept the revive in BF3.

Throwing your team-mate a syringe and letting them decide when to revive themselves is an excellent idea, and I really like it.

Binding the syringe throwing action to the same key as buffing is a stupid idea and I really hate it.

The ideas in Brink are cool, the implementation sucks.
the k/d is kinda important
Stopped right there. You have no knowledge on bfbc2, thus no say on this. Everyone agrees you shouldn’t care about your k/d so much. The stats you should care about is spm and w/l ratio. Anyone can get a good k/d being a wookie, but everyone hates wookies and your spm will probably be like 200 and your k/d 3.5. But everyone will hate you, and hate having you in their team.

But I do like the fact that you revive when you want to. But I’m sure DICE would of implemented this w/o brink. It was sort of a big issue in bfbc2, and they noticed it.

(St NickelStew) #13

Huh?? You like bragging about your skill, even if it is totally out of context with what you quoted, don’t you?

On topic: Props to Brink and Battlefield, my two favorite FPS games.

(nick1021) #14

I hate the stupid lock on thing with brink. Many times I want to give ammo to someone who is empty, but it throws it someone that runs by with almost full ammo. I then have to recharge supplies. It’s borderline retarded.

(Shadowcat) #15

Well, you have any number of people who want brink to be a CoD clone, BF clone, or Halo clone, so if that’s how it works with devs, you should have a lot of drinks headed your way :stroggtapir:

(Crytiqal) #16

Ow look guys, im dead and all, but I can manage to do some surgery on myself whenever I want. Just throw me some tools, hm k?

(Shadowcat) #17

Fun > Realism

that doesnt mean “Realism =/= Fun” it just means that when forced to choose between the two, fun is the obvious choice. Being revived in such a way that you are just going to die again is not fun.

(Crytiqal) #18

Well then, a good team player would revive when the area is clear.
Like how it worked in W:ET or ETQW

Leaving game mechanics to “a good team player” isn’t the best idea for the vast majority of players. Brink was practically based on the idea that you need to bribe people into doing the right thing. Brink may have many problems but lack of medics, healing, and revives is not one of them.

(suho) #20

Oh yes it is to some extend beacuse some people are just not playing it right at all! Medics who waste their pips on giving me adrenalin in my own Spawn for whatever reason and buffing literally everyone right at the start of the game and not having the supply to revive me at the most critical moments is really damn annoying! And whats with all the spawncamping on CCity? It only happens because people just have no damn clue how to approach the game. I really get angry sometimes when I run past 3 guys who are just sniping when I am on the way to the obj.
