Banned.. accused of using bot.. plz review demos

Jimbo99, I think you need to get your head out of your arse to be honest. Splash Damage owes the community nothing (as the game ET, is by far and away enough), yet they are here and provide help and warm fuzzy feelings of happiness when we need it.

To the thread starter… I’ve been meaning to post this for some time… but never got around to it.
I’m not even going to watch the demos, because as somebody else has said in another thread, you could’ve simply recorded these whilst not using a hack… Now, i’m not accusing you of using one when you were playing on this server before, but by writing this thread, it means nothing to server admins as you can just record the demos as and when you feel like it.

As jimbo seems to be the wise old sage on this page, maybe you should try to take a moral crusade to de-throne these banshee admins.
However, ET is a game and if the server admins are paying for the server that you log onto, they are fully within their rights to alter the game as they see fit. You simply have to search for a server where the admins are more interested in having a proper game and not satisfying their own twisted desires.

As for the shrub/ETPro debate with better players or whatever, yes the more competitive players play on ETPro as it is the competitive mod, and therefore you do get a very high class of player on there. Shrub, if there are regulars, tends to be more for enjoying the game.
And quite frankly jimbo99, yes it is okay for the server admin in your analogy to prevent it’s players from using their “Queen”, and if you don’t like this, then FIND ANOTHER SERVER.

Oh, and jimbo99, there is/was a site where you can rate servers… not sure where it is though.

When on defense: defend objectives, and the enemy will come to you.
When on offense: go for the objectives, and the enemy will be there (or you’ll get an easy win).

Alternatively you can just spawn camp, that works on both offense and defense. :slight_smile:

You used to be able to rate servers on wolf.dehn.net (Highboy’s Home) but this is unfortunately no longer active. Wether that rating system is in use elsewhere I dont know…

With regards to the original issue - as Mr Tickles said, its simply not worth wasting time on a server where the admins act in such a way. If people walk away from their servers then maybe they will act differently, but in the end I would say a leopard never changes its spots…

Try our Mustard servers (I’ll get back with the IP’s!) if you wish. We run 2 ET-Pro servers, one running a Custom set of maps and the other running SW mode with the CB maps. Admins have been asked to be respectful to other players and keep the game fair. If you feel harshly treated please report instances on our forum at teamsenf.net or report them directly to me via pm on our forum.

To clarify: This demo was recorded on the very server I was banned from, the very night I was banned, the round before I was banned. Please note that I was being accused of using an aimbot in the demo and banned the next round. Logic dictates that if I am able to out-aim every player on the server without using an aimbot, I would probably not be using an aimbot the round following (or for any other round for that matter). To use an analogy: If I play chess online against a person who has demonstrated a high-degree of skill in real life (or in some other form that I can verify), then I would be far less likely to assume that they are using a chess program in the background to assist them in beating me.

That’s what I’m hoping to demonstrate. If “good” players with a skilled eye for bot-use say I’ve got a legitimately good aim (relatively speaking, of course) from watching my demos, then lesser-experienced players will be less-likely to believe I am cheating and hopefully less bans and hassling will occur. In my experience, once players can accept the fact that you’re not cheating, everything is smooth sailing from then onward.

Btw, thanks to the people who have taken the time to watch the demo(s) and post direct comments as to the question of whether or not I was using an aimbot.

[jerk] TBH, just give it up…this thread is kinda lame. We will never really know if you made a seperate demo apart from any cheating or even if you’ve ever cheated.
You’re aim is “not so good” & you only live cuz you chew med packs like a “kid in a candy shop”.

I think he wants us all to say what an Ub3r player he is, so he can tell everyone, “The guys at Splash Damage say I’m leet” , but as I told him in his thread in our forums, I would have banned him just for being such an XP whoring asshat who leaves his buddies crying for a medic to back rage some obvious noobs

Logic also dictates that if the server admin who banned you cared about proof and 2nd opinions he’d post a demo of you that he recorded himself, pointing out sequences he thought was suspicious. :frowning:
