Axis team always defending?

I just mean why is it so?

There could be one campaign about 1940 where the germans attack to france or something. Or a campaign where they attack in Africa or something.

This thing is really bugging me because I like the mp-40 but not defending.

Seriously though: WHY ???

its the standard…axis = bad allies = good

the bad has to stop the good

ignore me

Actually they are offensive on Railgun.

Still looking at history…I think Axis should get more offensive objetives.

Even though…ET rules…

The problem is the fact that the “allies” in the game are americans. And due to this fact the theatres of war that are playable are:

-North-West Africa: No axis attacks possible.
The US forces are pushing through Vichy owned Morocco and Algiers arriving to battle late 1942 seeing only minor resistance.

-France: No axis attacks possible.
The US forces are driving through France meeting tough resistance but no real counter attacks.

-Italy: There could be axis attacks
The Germans are occupying northern Italy after the Italians surrendered. Here the defence line was thick and therefore axis attacks are possible. (and were made historically)

-Germany: No axis attacks possible.
The US forces are finishing up the war.

So with the current system the only theatre of war, where axis attacks are possible is Italy. And besides Italian country side is the perfect place for some battles. Just think of it: Hills, farms, villages and rivers.

So I say we need Italian theatre of war to get axis attacking!

Seriously though what do you else think???

Italian campaign! ! !

There is always Stopwatch mode to switch up attackers and defenders. But yes, the Axis are almost always defending, Railgun being the sole exception

defending is better i think… yet everyone wants to go allies…

so all the crappy n00bs get placed in axis… who dont know how to defend

And the one thing I miss is meeting engagement.

Example: Meeting engagement in Vichy Algiers:

The teams begin from opposite sides and there is a city in the middle. And there are many command posts and mg’s all over the place. And the winner is the one owning most of command posts in the end of the game.
A variation of this is the old “City with a bridge in the middle” - map, located somewhere in France. This way both teams own an identical half of the map and the skills show better. But this is just boring.

But there could be some meeting engagements in this game as the game engine supports them well (reconstructable MG’s etc)

The newbies unable to defend is a common problem but they’ll learn (at least I hope so). Anyhow it just sucks when we have the best attack weapons but no attack missions for the axis. Historically most of the axis weapons were made for attacking rather than defending (for an obvious reason) and thefore it is just pointless to use these attacking weapons for defence only.

nice idea, CP but with command posts

i think goldrush, oasis and radar would probably suit it quite well as a secondary mode

I also prefer to defend, Waiting for unsuspecting victims, Wait for them to get close, Jump on them and shred the head off and eat the meat… Wait, I mean shoot them with mg42

(Jahuu) #10

So are there anyone else out there who would like to see a meeting engagement or more axis atack maps???

I am 100% sure that the custom maps that will come shortly will have those so awaited attacking Axis.
