I think a few people were banned. BTW how did you manage to get an infraction? I dont remember you saying anything bad. 
You see it under someone’s name and sometimes they even have a yellow or red card to the right if they were really bad.
The red or yellow card is next to the post that received the infraction or warning.
@iezza: Publicly visible under your avatar a couple lines down. You don’t have one btw. It would look something like this “Infractions: 1/0 (0)” to quote Herandar’s as an example of a warning. They expire in a bit.
They aren’t about what side of a discussion you back. They are the moderator’s attempt to enforce the forum rules.
The threat was completely ridiculous and the dude didn’t even respond to me because he knew it was ridiculous. The thing that was credible was that thread was deep sixed by mods that are infamous for being laid back.
Everyone who’s a regular on this forum knows that I joke with people a lot. And I’m not a vindictive poster. Nail, DarkangelUK (who doesn’t even really like me), Linsolv (who I’ve bitched out for stuff), and plenty of other regulars will tell you that I’m not a mean spirited asshole. And I generally am friendly. I came back like 3 minutes later and told the dude I was joking.
You’d get a private message saying you have an infraction and why. You only get warnings for violating forum rules. Most common violations are harassing people, insulting language, and useless posts. (Like an in before the lock image)
As I was saying, it doesn’t matter if you were serious. The individual to which the threat were directed was not a regular. Nor were many of those who responded so negatively. Threats are inherently personal which is why the reaction was also personal. That’s why you want to steer clear of them. I don’t particularly care if you were serious nor would I care if microsoft took action against some xbox player.
The threads were removed because SD didn’t want their original subject viewed or discussed on their forums.

Well I made a joke in bad taste. But my reasons were still the same. I think it’s disrespectful to the devs to post material they don’t want posted in their forums. Was it a little back handed? Yeah sure. I should have just spoke my mind instead of messing with the guy. Because that’s usually what I do. I just speak my mind or heart on things. Instead I thought I’d scare the dude hoping he’d learn a lesson from it.
The Relandi guy was the only person really responding genuinely. And I can respect where he’s coming from. But my reaction wasn’t out of jealousy. It was out of “what an idiot, this guy should leave because he’s going to get banned and his thread deleted anyway.” But somehow that turned into I’m jealous.
Then lebowski jumped in because I hurt his feelings and he was holding a grudge against me for telling him that he had posted a repeat thread for posting a security vs resistance poll. Note how he kept telling me I needed to grow up while cursing at me and saying extremely derogatory things. At least the other guy was semi respectful while he hurled accusations at me.
I can at least respect a man that has a little bit of tact.
I apologize for not having any at that time Biosnark and thank you for maturely pointing that out to me instead of raging at me.
But my intentions were purely that people shouldn’t post material that the developers don’t want on the forum. Because if they have to edit our posts and delete and lock threads that’s going to make this awesome board SUCK. And take away from the time they could spend answering our questions.
