I don’t care if people say “Hey I got it early and it’s good.” Or “Hey I got it early and I don’t really like it with a brief list of why” but people starting whole threads on the issue is grounds for serious trolling that could hurt Brink’s reputation before the game even comes out.

Which is something you “diehard fans” should be concerned about. Instead of flaming me for telling the dude to settle down and engaging in some light hearted teasing. You all acted like the elite one is your mom or something. And he’s some new random that could be telling lies. And I’ve been on this forum and following Brink for almost 2 years. Use your heads.

I don’t have a problem with people finding ways to get the game early. That’s the store’s problem if they sell it early. They shouldn’t sell it before the street date but whatever. The problem is people read what these people write on a forum and take it as gospel fact. I promise you some clever troll will come on here and rick roll all of you with a bunch of bogus information saying they got it from an “OFFICIAL SOURCE” such as the game or the guide. And lots of people will believe it and it will hurt Brink’s rep. THAT pisses me off. There’s nothing wrong with being vigilante against the possible spread of misinformation. If I did great harm or wrong with my good intentions then I think the mods would have warned me when they deleted the prima guide thread and the I got brink early thread.

I don’t feel self important or jealous. The game comes out on tuesday. If I was THAT worried about it I’d be picking it up at midnight somewhere. But I’m getting it via amazon. It’ll come probably in the middle of the day or the day before if I’m super lucky. I would just feel personally convicted if I did have it early and I would keep it to myself because obviously not everyone else has it. And it’s in a sense disrespectful to a lot of the other people who are looking forward to the game coming out. And it’s a slap in the face to Splamage whom have to keep this info under wraps til release day. I’d be able to shut my mouth til the tenth.

Im unsure why so many people are raging at people who were sold the game early, if you walked into a store today and it was on the shelf you wouldn’t walk away and think I’ll buy it on release day… You would grab it and leg it home to play and then ofcourse brag about the fact your playing it to the keyboard commandos on the brink forum.

Isn’t breach of contract geared towards suing for damages following financial loss? I’m thinking any breach of TOS that would lead to financial loss for the service provider, would have to be a criminal act also (given the relationship between provider and player), and therefore more serious than breach anyway?

The TOS covers (among other things obviously) use of third-party tools to circumvent in-game “controls”, but if you’re caught doing so (and therefore breaching the TOS/EULA) the company doesn’t have a chance at a suit - it’s not a criminal act, and proving that it caused losses for the service provider (worthy of a lawsuit) would be pretty difficult surely?

EDIT: Crap sorry… as above I was talking about the agreement between provider and player, but just realised what I quoted originally :slight_smile: Duh… the contract between publisher/distributor/retailer is obviously a different thing entirely!

What if you saw someone that just sucked SO bad at the game that you started worrying the game would suck itself. I’ve seen some nice footage myself. I saw the duct taped magazines and how fast every other reload could be which was cool. I saw some strafing wall jumping hip fire kills. I’ve seen some really neat footage. That stuff bothers me less then “Hey I have the game and this is what it is.” Because everyone is chomping at the bit to get at the game. And they will eat up any info they can get. It is the company’s intellectual property and you have to at least respect them enough to show some restraint until release day. I know everyone wants to see as much as they can. But it’s like 2 days away. I understand when people were taping stuff at PAX and other stuff like that because there was just NO video at all for us to look at. But we have plenty of media. And at this point after everything splash damage has graciously given to us it’s just backhanded to not respect their wishes.

If your playing a legit copy that you bought from a store there is nothing at all that they can do to you. They cant ban you, they cant lock your account, you cant get in trouble for having a store bought copy.
