Assistance neded to get ETQW to launch

Game won’t launch due to this error. Have not been able to find references online to help. Any assistance is appreciated.

This is a rather odd error, everything looks ok from the log and suddenly it can’t open the file. The file is obviously there or it would’ve said failed to locate. I am confused :confused:

I went to the folder location and there is no autoexec.cfg file. I don’t have the first clue where to look for the demonware.log file, but searching was unable to find it.

I uninstalled Steam and ETQW completely and then dowloaded and installed it fresh, but have the same issue. Steam says they don’t assist with 3rd party software so I came here hoping to identify a solution.

No luck thus far.

I’ve heard loads of stories of people having trouble running ETQW through steam, didn’t see any answers though. Buy the disk! i’ve seen it for £5 and less :smiley:

I just aiming through smoke, but what if you manually create an autoexec in the right place, that might sort out your problem

The autoexec file is not the problem, it’s the demonware file. Autoexecs are not required, they’re just for custom settings to load in highest priority which most people don’t use anyway. (most people on this forum do though)

What is a demonware.log file used for then? I cannot find any references that define what this file is for.
