Nice got to be able to flank.
Assault Container City in New Brink Gameplay Footage
With the parkour it’d be a shame not to have lot of different areas to flank from.
Your gloves are supposed to change depending on what class you are, but in this build at 1:50, when he changes from Soldier to Engy, his gloves remain the same. They don’t change until he equips his other gun at 2:04.
He also changes from Engy to Medic at 3:30 and the gloves stay the same again.
The devs have mentioned the color of the gloves as a way of indicating what class a player is. And I think it was mentioned in that sort of tutorial video floating around.
They also mentioned that this was an old build in these videos. It’s most likely fixed by now.
I’m wondering how you tell what class other players are. Do you see the different gloves on them as well? I remember Rahdo saying something about different backpacks, but I never really heard anything about it after that.
I know that a class icon appears next to a players health when you aim at him (friend and foe) so perhaps this is the only method.
When I was done using ironsight I start running again, which would automaticly removed the ironsight when holding sprint.
I don’t see the problem, unless you don’t sprint?
Prefer QW style (holding down less mouse buttons while aiming) but having both options in binds would be nice.
Never played halo but, as I understand it, shields regenerate and health doesn’t? If that’s correct, seems a nice compromise between the static and autoregen health systems.

haven’t heard anything about it either, perhaps they dropped it in favour of the gloves?
oh, and i remember some operatives being very glad about them having the fingerless gloves.
victory dance soldiers stole 'em!
The Brink for Dummies video specifically highlighted the gloves thing, if it was gone I would’ve though they would remove that from the video if they’re showing it off at an Expo.
nonono, i was talking about the backpacks, it was said the backpacks would show who was what class.
apparently they dropped that idea, and took gloves instead
But are the gloves universal? Will you see the appropriate gloves on OTHER players, or just yourself?
Perhaps the gloves offer the player a reminder of their class, while the different backpacks show everyone else what class you are playing? A large bag for engineers, a medium bag for soldiers, maybe with a lot of grenades on it (I think I have seen that in some of the pics) and no bag at all for operatives.
You see the gloves on other players as well. Take a look at the pre-order uniforms. The clothes change yet the gloves remain the same. This means that the glove slot is open depending on the class.
OK, so watching this again, when he’s playing medic he gets an XP reward when tossing the guy a syringe, and then he gets more when the guys rezzes himself, and I think more as well cause when the guy is rezzed his health goes up. So i thought it was somewhere around 300XP. But the first award was called “syringe master”, and now I am thinking this is something like a kill streak award, only for medics. Throw several syringes without dying and get XP for the streak?
Reminds me a little of my revive/death ratio stat I created back when I had “The Best Medic” up for ETQW.
edit: I guess not, looks like the “syringe master” is just what it says when you throw the syringe to the guy.
I noticed though he got XP for buffing his own health (he did it 2 or 3 times)…I wonder if that’s been changed in the latest build?
Just looking at the Brink HUD… I wish fps with mini-maps/AOR compass etc. would all agree on a default location for it on the screen. ETQW has it at the top right, Halo in the middle, MW2 at the bottom left (these are just examples people, calm down)… you get used to looking in one place then get messed up when switching to another game. Just a personal pet peeve… carry on!

i don’t think it’s a streak, more like an award “syringe master: you revived one teammate!”
and then you get a new shirt or something like that
