I was just wondering, are qualifications that important when dealing with jobs that require good artistic skills? Would a portfolio be good enough, or do you reckon it takes certificates with shiny metal stamps on them.
Artistic flair
Put yourself in the employers chair. What would you want? I would want two things: quality and delivery. Good stuff delivered on time, meeting my deadlines.
A ccourse/programme certificate is one indicator, telling me a little about the potential employers’ potential. The best indicator would be an… what is it called in English? internship? LIke a 6 months test-employment. To see what the employer can produce, under some time pressure.
Getting closer and closer to post 1337.

There are 2 things here- Showing you a good artist and showing you can work within timescales, work in team etc.
So any degree, HND where you’ve had assignments or real life examples if you have been employed will help with the timescales et all. But i guess some type of portfolio would be good to show the employer what you are capable of.
Maybe sign up to deviantart or something like that may help to show off an online portfolio?
I think a lot of employment theses days is based on an internship, or whatever else it is called. After 6 months there is a review of your performance. But you have to get the job first!
