Are we likely to see any bug fixes with the next sound & map update?

(doxjq) #1

Fletcher stickies disappearing or not detonating, Fragger nades disappearing with no cool down penalty etc. Any of the bugs like the two I mentioned that made their way into the game over the summer squash period likely to be removed with this update?

The Fragger one is really grinding my gears, especially in 5v5 pug matches.

(Jostabeere) #2

B-b-b-but w-e had the S-s-summer Squash?

Sad jokes aside. I don’t believe they can handle it in an update that isn’t made for bugfixing when they failed it so badly in an update that was primairly centered around fixing bugs.

(Terminal_6) #3

Is the fact that I can’t hear anything behind me also a bug? I was going to post that in tech support but it might be fixed in the next update.

You should’ve already been around long enough to know yourself this is simply complete bullshit what you just said here. If you know anything about how searching and fixing bugs work you should be aware that sometimes / often when a few things get fixed, one other issue arises.

So yeah, not always a sunday stroll and everything working perfectly but SD are definitely trying to push bug fixes any time they simply can. Below is some bloody reading for you to see yourself. Big hint, look at the amount of content / balance changes done in each and how there are still a fair amount of bugs attempted to be fixed, more than often succesfully.

You can by all means skim the site yourself for more and then take your FUD here the hell out. Yes, there will be bug fixes in the map rework update.

(B_Montiel) #5

That’s the issue with work in progress games, aka any multiplayer game which is still supported by developers actively. Any update can cause problems with other mechanics, and they can’t really forecast them precisely, even through quality testing. And from my personal experience, that’s particularly true with UE engine based games. So yes, there’ll be bug fixing, even hidden ones they don’t even mention because they detected them during testing iterations.

(Jostabeere) #6

@bontsa Does not change the fact that the “We will squash out all the bugs” was a joke and just created gamebreakers like crippling Stoker and Fragger.

(bontsa) #7

As much as I’d love it, pulling our random shit statements out of your arse does not make them “facts”. When you really find such an ability, give me a call because it’d get darn handy in everyday life and specifically TV quiz shows!

Did SD fail in fixing certain pretty annoying bugs? Did they introduce quite bad ones while removing plethora of others? Yea, they did and deserve criticism on that. In fact (as a proverb, not to be confused with a proven theory/verifiable truth), they better take some bloody learning of it.

However where on forsaken heavens have they stated “We will squash out all the bugs”? I went back to watch each and every one of their SummerSquash video, read the patch note descriptions and I am still baffled where you’re pulling this from.

Removing about a hundred and more bugs is, for me, anything but “a joke”. By all the means though you can apply to the company yourself to shake things around you’know. Open recruitment and all that, heres a link for your convenience! http://www.splashdamage.com/careers

Crippling? Weird to see said mercs still being played even in competitive setting, guess winning cups is so ez teams want to handicap themselves. Oh not to mention Fragger even got chosen as a merc ban in quite a couple Anniversary cup games. What a waste of a ban seeing he’s so absolutely useless apparently.

(Jostabeere) #8

@bontsa I just leave it at that. I was dissapointed by this “bugfixing update”. And imo such an update SHOULD NOT create gamebreakers. That’s a NO GO. Atleast 2 mercs are bugged.
Stoker cannot gib enemies and Fragger gets his own grenade in his face. Not speaking about many bugs which were reported by many people including me, which are still in the game.

It obviously does not matter what I say because you obviously do not understand the bit of satire in my posts, so I stop.

Just think a bit about, if a good game that’s for years around, should be in the state DB is right now. I was a goodcaller and believed in this game, but I lost my hope.

Like it or not, I feel that I’m entitled to dislike how SD handles the game and Nexon communicates with us after playing this game for so long and spending enough money for a f2p title.

(The_N00Ba) #9

I think it is okay to be disappointed by the bug fixes. I don’t think it is okay to be constantly negative about it all the time. From my experience negativity only breeds more negativity. This eventually just leads to depression and then who knows what.
I really don’t see how that helps any one.

(bontsa) #10

Jostabeere, you’re by all means entitled to dislike the decisions, its even preferable if its displayed in a constructive way because just waving yay for stuff won’t make it better, criticism is needed for that.

That being said you just come here waving a “fact” which is simply plain wrong and call something a failure without any good reasoning to it whatsoever. For both occasional Fragger issues and non-gibbing Molotovs we had +100 other bugs sorted and dealt with. What you could be criticising for example is the amount of time it took them do achieve this, but then again with rush who knows how actually bad things could’ve turned out.

DB’s heading where it’s heading on it’s own pace. If it fails to deliver in the end or takes too long, its over, just like with any other project/title. If you’ve lost your hope already I see very little reason to even come to forums spouting nonsense. Theres no satire in how you opened the discussion with “they can’t handle it” to have both content and bugfixes in an update. Thats just baseless scorning.

E: @GildedDark that spam flag seems unnecessary, I fail to see his comment as such.

(GatoCommodore) #11

I would Like K121 Sight Fix please.

(K1X455) #12

might as well prepare for autumn squash, then winter squash, then spring squash…

(MarsRover) #13

Gotta agree with @Jostabeere here. Right now the game is in worse shape than before the beginning of Summer Squash. At least for me. The game is more hitchy (despite 200-300fps), Stoker is broken. Many mercs were broken for a large part of SS.

(bushyg) #14

The throwable abilities cancelling and giving back cooldown and stoker’s molotov issues are things that should be been patched asap, and we should of been given a hotfix by now.

(Nail) #15

you’re not “entitled” to anything

(AlphaUT) #16

Fix proxy please, she is cancer. Oh, and thunder, he could kill you once he copies himself many times in Match’s body. Match is a nice person. He loves to see the ants fighting each other for a piece of candy called EV

(GildedDark) #17

@bontsa I only flagged it as spam cause 90% of the time he’s just flat out negative, with 0 respect for the amazing people working their hardest to make this game, the game we love

(bontsa) #18

True, but perhaps theres no reason using it as a reaction button to (even when lousy based) opinion.

Seems like I’ve misunderstood the meaning of the word “entitled” for quite long now. Welp, good to finally correct it to myself. Which however makes my earlier comment wrong but instead of re-iterating with mile long sentence I just quote the good ol’ man.

[/quote]

Nontheless, seeing the update isn’t that far ahead we should see ourselves pretty soon whenever or not SD is “incapable” of bringing both map updates and fixes in the same package.

(Jostabeere) #19

Well you should read the rules first and how the flags work. I can be negative as much as I want. Doesn’t allow you to assume my post is advertising something or flatout flooding the forum like the Asian bots do.

Besides that I already said what I think. I really liked the game and for a long time believed into it. But the last…Lets say 1 year, from the WtD event, showed me that this project won’t be as successful as other games for various reasons I already listed in different threads. I’m still sad about the fact.
I got a lot of online friends through this game. Everyone was a dedicated player, some were streamers and so on. Right now only 1/16 of them is playing DB at all.
Besides that, it’s pretty intolerant if you only allow positive posts and watch this game through pink glasses when it’s obviously objectively in a state with many, many, many heavy issues.
But as already said, it does not matter what I say or think because the majority of people here don’t like and don’t want negativity for some reason, even if this negativity has a point. I’m obviously an arse because I don’t praise and like everything that SD and Nexon are doing.

Well, a good result doesnt come from only saying praise to it.

if youre raising a son and you do notthing but keep praising him he will end up becoming defiant to the society and we all know thats not good.

theres always a need for those people who are being negative all the time.
i think i can get behind the fact that being negative is right.
