you do NOT need to download custom packs. the sv_pure command is only relevant for mapfiles that you MUST have and the game loads for the map.

My propose is to install the ET ultimate Installer: http://etui.kashu.fr/ eventhough it was created quite a while ago it still hast most custom maps and at least the latest version of etpro. When you now disable downloads you should be able to play on most etpro public servers. Though there is a new anticheat called TZAC, which some publics may use by now. Its a third party tool from which you have to start your ET. It is mostly used for clanwars, but some publics “might” have it aswell.

Our community is called “NSF - No Spam Files”.

I am currently running a WarGamez.dk tribute server ( 78.47.93.217:27962 ) that has
no xpsave (actually 3 minutes, for crashes 'n stuff),
no hitsounds,
original spawntimes,
original/hardcore friendly fire,
only stock maps.

It still need some cvar-adjustments, but the plan is to make it as close to WarGamez/etmain as possible. So no syringe-healing, no medpack-shooting panzers, 10 mines max, everybody triggers mines, etc, etc
Some stuff will stay on, like no complaints for friendly mine-kills, g_fear 3500, all the stuff that makes perfect sense.
It has newest etpub client pk3, but that’s it.

Should be working well, I had a friend who hosted 3 servers like this and they became popular really fast… Sadly he lost some free time and had to stop; Servers was NQ 1.2.0 Beta, so you see how long ago x) It had also hitsounds forced off but custom maps and bots 3o3.

Don’t forget about the etplus mod, which was made exactly for that purpose. To be as close to etmain as possible, and to be a perfect codebase for modders. Unfortunately it is not well known, have no clue why tbh.

Between all this punkbuster and mod horse**** I still haven’t actually gotten into a single game. Time to break down and try that ultimate installer jobby.

Running the latest N!tmod 2.2 PR2. Short 4 meg download and you’re good to go. Running the 6 stock maps objective style. Set to 32 slots. I will add more IF the server ever gets that popular.
