Are there any news on black cipher?

(n-x) #1

The mofo update happened over a month ago and we havent got any news on the matter. I just come from a game with drops to 30fps and input lag of 35,57. That’s insane. Didnt you want to be more transparent on matters. So please be transparent on how your update about optimization you hyped for months causes something like this and when will you finally fix it.

i dont really get input lag,

so 35,57 is acceptable or not very acceptable?

(n-x) #3

@sweetColumn not very acceptable, to put it nicely

(GatoCommodore) #4

i remember it went weird after the map update, but before that its pretty fine

(tominatorx) #5

Hmm… I think I’m going to let MSI afterburner run in the next matches that I will play. I must say that I haven’t experienced drops to 30 fps personally, but now I’m wondering what the lowest framerate is that I will get while playing.

I haven’t experienced any input lag or framedrops whatsoever actually. I had framedrops before the MOFO update, but after my performance has been great.

The only two issues I have had are loading screens taking too long and cutting into the start of the match, so I end up spawning after everyone else, and often crashes.

Just wanted to remind people that both SD and Nexon have been on holiday/vacation since Dec 24. They should be back soon though.

Even on the 24th of december it was a month without any real information on the subject. So No excuse there.

Well if there not back on track over at sd hq working out those bugs they better have another commander video lined up lol

Black Cipher has NOTHING to do with Splash Damage, that’s a Nexon application, said to be an anti-cheat

Can you see that “nexon.net” in the link? And even if it would be just formal part of that link (like provider of domain or something) does that mean that SD should ignore problem caused by third party programs (especialy when shoe mentioned that problem in his videos )? I know NGS is not their program but still it is their game so they should care about fixing that problem. It does not matter if they or nexon will fix it. I believe they cooperate somehow.

Black Cipher is an application Nexon uses over several of it’s games, not just Dirty Bomb, and as such is not under Splash Damage control in any way. Nexon doesn’t acknowledge problems with servers or NGS, they never have. (corporate policy I assume)

Maybe SD cant do anything from the coding side. But Nexon bascially ruined SD’s whole optimization patch for a lot of players. So maybe SD could “persuade” Nexon to give that issue some priority. Also, NGS suddenly freaked out with the mofo update. So maybe there is some code in the mofo update that causes NGS to malfunction like that and thus SD could do something about it.

I just want some info on it. I am sick of waiting for DB to become playable again.

So far the relationship between SD and Nexon seem to be tied this way :

  • SD is responsible for game content
  • Nexon provides servers and anti-cheat

So black cypher / NGS might just be as black boxy for SD as it is for us. SD just linked his game to it to receive info like “kick him” “ban him” or whatever. Just for info, it does not seem that the opposite works : black cypher just scan for third party program on your client and that’s it.

In their past communication (they already “changed” anti-cheat in 2015), SD never mentioned they were able to tune anything from nexon’s AC. They even went deep into trying to build a server-sided stat-tracker anti-cheat (much - :p) by themselves at that time. So I don’t think they’re happy of the current situation to say the least.

But SD could just make something “wrong” during the tuning update which causes spiking of NGS. It does not have to be NEXONs fault.

i know its a shock to the pc master race but turning your in game setting down gives you an edge fps and visual wise. shame you need everything at 4k and ultra. jk

lol no worries. Lowest drop I got was 75 fps everything on max detail.

4K would be kind of a waste since I only have a 1080p monitor. As for visuals… I prefer a game to not look sh*t but to each his/her own. (jk)
