Are smurfing/multiple accounts allowed in DB?

So…trying the game after the patch since there was some kind of “minor nerf” to Sparks…(yes, it’s still a joke)

I have come across players that seem to have good aim and know what to do even though being level 3-8 and unranked players.
After I watched them I was sure they weren’t hacking or anything but they simple had knowledge of game that would be quite extraordinary for such low level. (let’s not get into all “levels don’t matter” bs, ok?)
Is Smurfing allowed or multiple accounts in this game and does it depens whether it’s pub or competitive?

It does create bit anger in certain people when they see that lvl 3 rekts just anything.
It is MUCH WORSE than if they would see level 30 example and think “he got good, I must too”.

When the team balance is already basically SHIT in this game, let alone people leaving matches when they feel they are cheated, smurfing will just make it worse so what you’re going to do about it?
Or do you expect that these people are reported as “cheaters”?
Because that is what is going to happen.

There’s also players from CS:GO here now (now with all the promotion for the CW update, Execution and stuff), ran across a GE Level 6 player reking everyone (including me).

Why should it not be allowed to be better at the game with a lower level, let them waste their time unlocking all the mercs again…

They have specific way of playing and no, especially them don’t know what to do in low levels so I’m sure these are smurfed accounts. I’m not going to argue you whether you believe what I see to be true in game.

Somebody remind me that why to play this game again?

You do all realize how such thing affects balance on pubs and MM, the perception of people of that balance (levels aside they can see the low hours from the profile) and the distaste in the mouths of many players (especially new ones = since someone at the same level is just giving them a new one?).

Well somebody is anally anguished.

Dunno about you, but for me whenever i play a merc (in this case Kira) whose playstyle and personality I enjoy, I couldn’t care less about winning or losing. I just wanna be kinky. ^.^
Maybe you didn’t find your merc/playstyle yet.

Her playstyle’s really cool. I personally enjoy high-speed, low health classes and precision (no scope) rifles. Dirty Bomb is so far the only game I’ve played with a combination of the two. With the added bonus of playing as a sassy, Asian lady.

Come on. Playing well in CS doesn’t make you good in DB. I came across people with muliple thousands of CS GO hours sitting in a corner with Skyhammer or only shooting while crouching. Dirty Bomb is much faster and more vertical than CS will ever be.

If you’ve spent a bunch of time on, say, quake and CS, you can pick up DB pretty damn quickly. Sure, you will need to spend a bit of time to learn the game specific stuff, and you aren’t going to match the absolute best players without practicing DB specifically a lot. However, going from thousands of hours of quake/cs experience to stomping in the average pub match isn’t that hard if you try to adapt – even I can do decently as often as not, and I suck.

I’ve ran into a few smurfs for certain. And there is nothing wrong with having multiple accounts. If it keeps somebody entertained and playing then more power to them. As long as they aren’t doing it to intentionally beat down max level 5 servers then it’s all good from my perspective.

I wouldn’t really say there’s much wrong with smurfing as there’s no real base to surf off of. All that will happen is a few greens will feel what it’s like to face real competition and maybe learn a bit by watching them play. It’s not like the Max Level 5 servers actually mean anything and even so, it can actually be a bit of a challenge to try and control a game where there are 15 people crouching everywhere with no idea as to how to play the game. I generally see 5+ as fodder, sometimes useful, 10+ as probably semi-competent, and 20+ as almost certainly competent (I have been surprised). Still, I (level 14 as of now) outclass many much higher than my rank and I don’t smurf (killed Sniff a few times :stuck_out_tongue: , but he would;t accept my friendship :frowning: ) so it’s not unreasonable to expect varying skill levels. I believe I’ve seen a legit smurf once or twice (top of the scoreboard) but that’s it.

Some have smurf accounts so they can get in game on competitive mode :wink: , i seen streamers using smurf accounts for competitive so they don’t have to wait 2 hours for 1 game… :slight_smile:

IMHO smurf account should not be allowed, it will hurt the game more than help it. DB will lose players to smurfs especially new players who will get slaugthered by them even in max lvl 5 servers.
For those who say they do it for their own enjoyment, what about the other players enjoyment? Are they not allowed to play against ppl of their own lvl??

Streamer using Smurfs because you can’t get a Game on Higher Ranks, thats the way to destroy the Game too…

Making ppl quit the game before they even really played it cause of smurfs is much worse imho.
