APcup 2013 starts today!

AP stands for Advanced physics, it’s like Q3 defrag in W:ET. The APcup is a friendly competition where the community battles it out for the best times on some new maps that have been made for the event.

Here’s a nice video Sander made showcasing some community members jumping:

Start time: 19:00 CEST

Have fun!

It would be cool to see some new faces.

Impressive jumps, I guess only possible through this mod, or?

Yeah, ETrun’s got 3 different physics implementations, VET (Vanilla ET), VQ3 (Vanilla Quake 3) and AP (Advanced Physics).

Ah yes I remember the post now, sorry ^^’

But I guess the first video wasn’t recorded with VET settings?

It’s Advanced Physics cup so it is fully understandable.

Here are the results:

Im in charge of the next APcup wich will be in summer, and we still need mappers!
If you feel like helping us out read this thread for information:

Perhaps some of you who might be interested could help our mappers!
I understand most people here have never played AP before but there are some great mappers on this forum and i think you’d be a great help to our un-experienced mappers that might want help on designing(making the map pretty) or basic map requirements

thanks for reading

I can confirm that it’s quite fun to make maps for AP. If you can invest a couple of hours each week then you can finish a map in 1-2 months. You can really let your creative mind run wild and make something crazy. It’s a bit like the Scene from a theme contest, but when you’re finished you can enjoy it by playing it too!
