Anyone tried Quake Wars under OS X Lion yet?

I’ll be the guinea pig when I buy my Core i7 Air in August; but as for my current machine, I’m not updating to Lion unless someone else tells me my most important “productivity” app is OK

Aspyr posted a list of their games with Lion problems, and it’s only the obvious ones: really old pre-Intel titles that were never updated for Intel chips. So I’m hopeful. But I’d rather have an eyewitness!

TIA

It’s ok [plus chars]

Installed it on my MacBook, and my first warning was that my tiny wonderful app called ‘iPak3’ (for creating .pk4 etqw custom campaign files, without OSX hidden/temp files) can no longer run in Rosetta. So I wait with upgrading my iMac till I have an alternative for that.

No issues at all.

Thanks!

I just tried it too. No problems. (Well, the main title screen has white arrows going around the earth’s equator—but that’s the only real glitch.)

And my new 11” Air runs it really well! Settings on medium mostly, but with the right balance of options, it looks pretty and hovers around 60 fps in a firefight. Which is SO nice after playing on my 5-year-old desktop for so long. It was great… in its day.

QW doesn’t list the native res (1366x768) but I can probably set that manually in a cfg somewhere. 1280x720 scales to fit and looks great anyway.

Of course, when not on the go, 11” is not very immersive! Which is why I plan to add a pico projector ASAP

Air + pocket projector = super-portable Quake Wars with 100” screen!

It’s not all good news, though. I’m so rusty I just lost offline to bots :frowning:
