what is so bad about the AI according to him? if i get this game it will be only singleplayer for me so the AI is very important for me anyways
Anyone see this players review?
I think if you’re playing this game for a solo game you missed the point of Brink.
i dont have online but it looks like a fun game thats why i am waiting before i figure out if i get this or not, my younger brother loved the SW battlefront series without online so maybe he will get the game, sounds like i might get it cheap or something
It’s sad because this misunderstanding is really what SD was spending tons of time trying to fight. My question is really are these people just REALLY stupid or has SD failed to make the game accessible and clear despite all those efforts?
-There is absolutely no sense of direction at any time.
Well this game is not a linear shooter like others out there, where you just follow the same linear path and kill enemys trrought it.
-your AI team mates are 100% useless, making playing solo impossible.
I find hard to believe in that, I´ve seen some leaked videos and the bots give u amo revive you etc a lot, also in some reviews people tought they here playng vs people not bots.
-Your guns do little to no damage, and run out of ammo almost instantly.
I actually love the guns “little” damage, contributes to the anti camp, and gives you time to fire back, about the amo why would the soldier have the ability to give ammo to teammates if you had uber bullets that shows me that he played the game expecting it to be another military fps.
-The ENTIRE game is 8v8 deathmatch with some minor objectives tossed in for variety.
This does not makes sense, brink is the less deatmatch friendly fps i´ve seen lately.
-Freeplay mode with all of its “options” is a joke. You pick the map and number of players, that’s it.
Î suspect he played freeplay offline somehow wich is the same as campaign offline lol.
About the score how can you rate it 4-10 if you didnt played the main component of it the multiplayer, I feel like some of the leaked videos reviews people play if expecting to be a linear military shooter, wich im glad it isnt.
Looks like not hitting stuff is a universal problem on the console videos. I’m surprised at how bad it is. Maybe a console patch could turn the autoaim way up.
Not worried at all. I’ll draw my own conclusions. Usually those complaining about games really don’t know a good game if it slapped in the face.
I hate autoaim. I remember watching the kill cams in COD thinking WTF was that. That dude aim wasn’t even close but he still got the kill because of autoaim.
You can say what you want, while on consoles, FPS aiming does lack the speed and - to some extend - precision of mouseaim, it feels a lot more smooth and “natural”. Some games - most noteworthy, the Timesplitters series - actually did it right and let you control your aim within a certain deadzone in ironsight mode. Far more accurate than standard Y-axis rotation. Sure, still nix compared to mouseaim, but when I play a game like BRINK that is supposed to make me feel like controlling a human being on two legs and not a hovering camera with a gun, I willingly don’t give a **** about the 1337 crowd.
lol i guess it is whatever the person is used to, i dont want people to think of me as a console noob i just find a computer which runs windows 2000 and has 260,528 kb or RAM does not run games too well

First off, I want to say that yes I have played Brink. Only for about an hour, but I have played the actual game. Thus why I only say this is my first impressions. As to WHY I have played Brink, the answer to that is simple. I work at a brick and mortar rental chain (not BB) and have pre-street rental privileges. (interesting fact, I beat Portal 2 the Saturday before it came out)
Also: Apologies for my atrocious use of comma’s.
EDIT: Since it has been pointed out I have completely neglected Gameplay I have spoilered my gripes.
Gameplay wise, Brink has a lot going on. there is always a primary objective and quite often more than one secondary objective. At first, these are very hard to keep track of. The objective wheel does a good job of helping resolve that issue though, so you can get right to the objectives. Also, since I could only play single player (I’m on a PS3) I was impressed with the bot AI. If they went one way first, and I went another way, they would often times come after me (shouting about backing me up). Brink absolutely punishes lone wolf attitudes, often times because your gun runs out of ammo too quick to do a lot of damage. you need your team mates to be re-supplying you. As a team based shooter, this one shines by making mechanics require team play.
Getting around the map quickly is a breeze with the SMART system. Chest high walls are fun obstacles to get over rather than cover. You can also go sliding into an opponent to knock them down. Pretty fun. It also means that ledge you think is protecting your backside isn’t, so pat attention to your radar.
Your character starts out pretty puny at first, having no abilities (you can’t reload or throw a grenade while sprinting without ability points spent properly) but this is probably best, because there are a lot of abilities to unlock (both universal and class specific) that gives even more gameplay options. The game is not for the faint of heart. I was pleased that the basic abilities will get you by. Everyone can throw frags, and most guns can be used by each body type.
Objectives flow nicely, First blow a door, 2nd hack a safe, third deliver safe contents to point X, escort person from point X back to blown door and safety. I’m not sold on the escorts, but the other goals are fun and create some tense moments in the midst of an already intense fight.

He has some objections re the PSN and voiceovers but i’m sure if he had a look there will be settings for at least one of those
well. i guess we have to wait for la noire then. :stroggbanana:
dont even know what this is.
It was xbox360 version. That one gets a Day 1 patch. I’m actually wishing they’d pushed release back so they could’ve fixed it before the douchebags got hold of it.
Guys Guys come on
who even says it needs patched? some tard who has no idea what the game is supposed to be? how many idiots do you come across per day when gaming who have no idea calling evryone a hacker or lame etc etc etc have faith, trust your own instincts don’t let some kid make your mind up for you.
“Breathing air sucks, serriously I had some 10 secs ago and it was all filled with like car fumes and stuff. Why the didn’t give us gills and stuff like EVERY OTHER THING HAS…OMG this is the suck…serriously guys don’t breath air”
