i solo comp every now and then and find the team balancing much better overall than in pub games. that being said i still have games where we kick ass or get our asses kicked. even with premade teams.
just alot less often than in pubs.
Basically if i want i more balanced game, comp is the best option
An Asia player who’s suffering same fate as Oceania players here
30 mins to find a game…NOPE and I’m not playing on US servers because I don’t want to bother players over there with delay in my shots.
I believe 30 mins comp game finding time is not because of player base, it’s because of the matchmaking system itself

Whoever you are, get out.
@Watsyurdeal If you click flag and then hover over the options it will tell you who it was and wont add another flag unless you click one of the options.
Get off your high-horse buddy, some people don’t like comp for legitimate reasons and you have no right to deny them their opinion. The only excuse here is your attitude towards the situation, and it’s a poor excuse.
Those reasons aren’t legitimate unless one speaks from personal experience and take into account how many competitive matches one has played.
If one never plays competitive then one is simply parroting what is generally said and the reasons listed then have little merit.
It’s not a matter of being on a high-horse but actually having played many competitive matches myself and coming to a different conclusion, which certainly has more merit with the actual experience of what competitive brings about.
It’s frankly a disservice to the DB player-base if one keeps spreading the same old rhetoric about competitive without actually ever playing competitive because of held beliefs.

I dislike stopwatch. Is that not a legitimate reason?

Depending on the arguments provided of why you don’t like it, it either stays legitimate or not. The ones OP provided are not justifiable as they aren’t true as often as presumed.
I’m pretty new to all of this. DB is the first game I’ve ever played on PC and with a keyboard and mouse. And I just started about two weeks ago. I’m totally addicted to DB and love the game! I am still in the learning stages with keyboard/mouse gaming, but have a lot of fun!
I stayed away from the competitive matches for fear of being completely destroyed. I tried it for the first time over the weekend, and I must say, I enjoyed it! All the matches I played in seemed to be on the up and up. And I actually did better stat wise. I was shocked, to say the least.

I personally find it drawn out and not as fun. That’s definitely legitimate for me. If competitive offered objective mode I’d consider it. Though I have still not had a good experience any of the times I have played competitive either for missions or with friends and no it has nothing to do with the skill involved. Pubs get imbalanced a lot too, I can deal with being outplayed.
I wonder how many issues people have with comp mode would be resolved if people actually played comp mode lol. (incentive based comp weekend?!?)
There should probably be a mechanism that wouldn’t allow a team consisting of an elite, a cobalt 1, cobalt 2, gold 1 and gold 2 to play against a gold 3, gold 4, gold 5, and two unranked… twice.
There should also be a way to leave a match before it begins without being penalized.
I understand that comp mode is a bit tricky to set up, but instead of allowing horrible teams like above, I’d prefer if it just told me there was too few players to match me to a team/game. Instead of forcing me to accept a game and getting rolled while wasting 20-30 minutes.
After getting Elite my Ranked MM game play has fell to 1 or 2 rounds a week. I would love to solo que but I always get unranked players on my team and they have no idea what is going on.
There are not NEARLY as many hackers out there as people claim, a guy going 70+ and 20 deaths doesn’t mean hacks. It literally means you suck at playing in a serious setting, and your pub stomping methods don’t work here.
The bad match ups are due to a small player pool, there’s only about 3000 people online, and I’d say only 1/3 of those people play match making. So expect a lot of mismatches and long matchmaking times, which is one of my problems with it honestly. 1-3 minutes of waiting just to find a game.
Comp is literally stopwatch 5v5, the game flow is a HELL of a lot better since you wipe out the enemy team you have plenty of time to plant the bomb and get things moving. It’s just a matter of communication, understanding team composition, angles and positioning, etc.
And if you haven’t played it, try it first, and please for the love of God quit the hackusations.

Oh, I’ve tried it - I just doubt I’ll ever get to try it again.

There’s like 0 hackers nowadays
I play competitive matchmaking everyday with a team of premades.
Maybe for every 1 out of 15 games you’ll find a hacker.

level 22, when I was level 7 or so I was desperate for credits so went for the play competitive mission, we got rekt by a premade team, nowadays I just remove all competitive missions, if I had a group of friends to play with maybe, alone with randoms you better not.
