Anyone else over level 10 never play competitive?

(KayDubz) #1

Im currently level 18 and I always play regular unranked matches through quick play or server browser. And in the last month or so, it seems like its hard to find unranked games that a minimum level 10. So I generally play in open unranked matches that have both low and high level players. And usually people over level 15 or so end up getting accused of “pub stomping” or “noobie bashing”. Ive only tried to play competitive a handful or so of times, and was turned off each time. My reasons:

  1. Joining a game with a glitcher or a hacker that ruins an entire match. And I encountered them more often in competitive than in unranked.

  2. Being forced to stay in a match unless I completely quit the game and restart it. Its stupid that the game gives you a score penalty as well as a time penalty that locked you into the match until it was over (or until you force closed the game).

  3. Lack of balance in teams, where you get stuck on a really bad team getting rekt. This leads into Reason # 2 again…because you’d love to just quit the bad game and find a new one.

Now, while reason 3 happens in unranked matches a lot too, I can at least leave the matches when I want and find another server quickly. Also, ever since I got above level 10 it seems like I get dumped into empty rooms a lot when selecting quick play to auto-join servers.

Well actually, coming from Oceania (AUS/NZ), it takes about 30 minutes to find a match because of the extremely small playerbase here - that’s the real reason I don’t play comp.

I’m level 37 and haven’t played a comp game. When I first started playing, all I heard was that it was full of unbalanced games and cheaters and then when I wanted to try, I found it’s impossible to get a game going on an AUS server.

People who see the problems with comp mode need a support group

I’m also level 18 and played my first couple of games on this weekend. I’m not convinced…

1st game: Lose - 5 minutes into the game a guy left our team, it was fun though
2nd game: Win - guy on the enemy team had a suspiciously good aim, landed every shot with k121…fortunately he didn’t give a sh*t about the objectives, se we won
3rd game: Lose - 10 minutes into the game a guy left our team
4th game: Win - a clean, ballanced match

I was unranked (still am), dont know how it goes in higher ranked games.

Why should I play a mode which doesn’t give anything special but is filled with aimboters more than pub? A pub 6v6 with 2 Vassilis feel the same as 5v5.

There’s like 0 hackers nowadays
I play competitive matchmaking everyday with a team of premades.
Maybe for every 1 out of 15 games you’ll find a hacker.

Pft… competitive… it’s like joining pub after waiting a minute or so.

yup, even less than that; haven’t seen a single hacker in 20+ games

(GottaBeGreg) #12

@gg2ez Whoa wait, you can actually find a game after 30 minutes. __ Mind blown.

(gg2ez) #13

I’d be lucky to find a game after 30 days.

(GottaBeGreg) #14

True.

Lv43. Trying to get a group for playing every day. Thankfully havent run into a hacker for about 3 weeks now, but on the other had we get accused every few matches.

Balance is broken in this game and no autoteambalance infight (pub/competetive)

difference is : u ll be blocked if u leave the “pro” competetive game…

so, yeah i stay with the pubs. sometimes i got lucky & get a good game, rest is broken teambalance noob bashing (5vs7, 4vs6 etc.)

100% no hackers in AUS comp.

…Wait. There is no AUS comp.

These are really just excuses. What are you afraid for, skilled opponents as opposed to plebs you can pubstomp everday? I think you have grown comfortable with the latter, which is fine I guess.

(cornJester) #19

Level 23 and I hate competitive for various reasons. I prefer objective mode, impossible to play in comp. I’ve met nothing but jerks and hackusators in comp. Even when I was doing terribly I still got called a hacker!

It’s a toxic environment playing a mode I don’t enjoy as much. No thank you.

(gg2ez) #20

Get off your high-horse buddy, some people don’t like comp for legitimate reasons and you have no right to deny them their opinion. The only excuse here is your attitude towards the situation, and it’s a poor excuse.
