Anyone else getting bored?

(ludicrousBlast) #1

Don’t take the title too seriously, this game is fun, I have paid money for this game, and I have almost 400 hours that I think were worth it. I have just been slowly playing less and less. The same five maps, always on the top of the leader board unless there is someone else as good as me, stomping in public matches is just not as fun as a challenge. I would love to see some sort of new content added soon besides mercs.

(Faraleth) #2

Nope, I’m still mastering some of the mercs I’d never even thought to play, and I think things are going just fine. ^.^ Personally, I am fine with how things are. Can’t wait for Dome and Execution to come out, I think it will give it a real boost, along with the remainder of the mercs… I will admit it’s been a while since we’ve seen a major content boost, so things are bound to get a little stale, but these things take time… hopefully all that will change by the end of the month. :3

Yes, because this game is fucking garbage. You can’t even play with your friends anymore, all in a meaningless attempt to “balance” pubs where anyone of any skill can join or quit at any time. Splash Damage fucked up huge. Playerbase has dwindled massively, matchmaking in comp is irreversibly bad because of it and now you can’t even play with friends in pubs. Six of my friends and I quit this game because it’s been shit on repeatedly since the Phantom nerf. Seems like SD is making purposely horrible changes to drive away non-fanboy whale faggots so they can justify slimming down server cost while still getting money selling their garbage elite cases to losers and retards like Clown, Amerika, etc.

400+ hours here, and somehow I’m not bored and playing a lot.

(DMaster2) #5

In two weeks we will get another merc and probably dome and maybe execution? Plenty of new content to explore.

(SteelMailbox) #6

I am taking a break after 350+ hours, until the next update.

(cornJester) #7

A small amount. I have certainly been playing for shorter periods of time but that happens with any game. Usually one, maybe two matches per session.

(LifeupOmega) #8

I definitely play far less, I really think the lack of map variety is starting to get to me. Mercs I’m not fussed about, I played TF2 for years with the same 9 mercs, but new maps and ideas kept making me come back.

(messiah) #9

The only thing that frustrates me is that all i want to do is play on min 10 servers and once every 2 maps or maybe even 1 map everyone leaves the server after its over and its extremely annoying how fast people attention spans are in this game. One guy leaves, then the next, and then 4 people in a row leave and poof the whole server is dead… THE LEAVE TRAIN NEVER STOPS

I would play this game a lot more if it weren’t for that, playing people who just started can get extremely boring so i just end up not playing much anymore.

(Dawnlazy) #10

I have the impression that this would not be the case if you could open your lead cases without leaving the server.

I was one of the people that would say something like, ’ I’ll never get bored of this game’. It’s not like that for me anymore, the thought process behind updates has been hard to understand and every new update a sense of splash damage getting nexoned is growing. I love this game and I’ve spent a small fortune on it but right now it’s hard to want to play it. The trade system was a massive piss take for me and was the final straw in me backing away from the game until it’s been corrected, until then I can’t find the motivation to want to play db which is something I never thought I would say.

(Fiktio) #12

Unfortunately I don’t have that much time to play at first place.
I would love to play this game more, but my work limits playing hours a lot.
Often after the work I am way too tired to focus to play and I might end to play 1-2 hours, if not at all.
Weekends are of course different thing, but those are times when I have more energy to play and more time to learn how to play this game.

Maybe the next holiday will give me a chance to remember what does being bored feel like.
Right now I don’t have enough time to get bored.

(misspo) #13

Well, i’m getting a bit bored too… I play only two games atm: DB and CSGO.
Some time i play 50/50 and some time one game take the leadership. Lately it’s csgo…
I do think the lack of maps (gamemod not that’s much) and contents are the causes.
But i have to say it’s easiest to play good matchmaking on csgo than DB. It’s a really big factor.
I love DB because it’s the only game in a long time that i love to play FFA and COMP at the same time… The last game like this i played was BF2142

In two weeks i played like 1hour :frowning: When the next update will come out (dev said it will be big), i will give it a try if it’s worth it.

The game still has less content than it had in closed beta and there’s really no incentive to play. At all.

(messiah) #15

at least we were given the privilege to play whenever we want ;-0

(prothis) #16

I’m still really enjoying it, but my playtime has gone down recently, though that’s more due to minor internet issues, friends getting Rocket League, and DB taking attention away from single player games I’ve wanted to get through. Still on every day for dailies though.

I’ve been playing all afternoon, and I have to say, I am starting to really hate playing this game.

I have been playing since March, and it used to be fun…

There are still thousands of people playing that never drop ammo, never drop healing packs, never stay in cover after being revived to heal up, never go for the objectives, never kill downed players etc. They are the very definition of unskilled.

Months ago I told myself that it would improve, that they would eventually learn and adapt, and the matches would get better, but it just isn’t happening. Even after patiently and logically explaining what these players should be doing to benefit their team, not once has any of them ever listened and improved their play. The other team could have 3 mercs capable of reviving (one of which could even be Sparks) and STILL they will never finish a downed player, no matter how many times they are revived.

This is why I am 100% convinced that FPS games, of a skill based nature, ABSOLUTELY must have skill bracketing.

Casual mode is the mode where the majority of the playerbase will be hanging out, grouping intelligent FPS veterans in with lower skilled players is always going to be a recipe for disaster. The vets will hate the lack of useful fun matches, and the lower skilled players will quit when they perpetually end up at the bottom of the scoreboard with a 2/20 KDR because the people they play against are so much better than they are.

This isn’t a new problem either, the same thing has resulted in many FPS games over the years. Developers need to start understanding the large difference in mentality and skill level between players, and keeping them separate, if they want their games to last more than a few months.

I’m not getting bored but I am getting annoyed with how people don’t cover/go for the objective, and how people never seem to watch a flank or angle. I feel like I get with crossfire often.

(Vinos) #19

This game doesn’t get boring, though I wish it were a bit more like wolfenstein ET with r34 servers with possibly user-created jumping maps with hidden ponrografi rooms

(IcySkyz) #20

I’m bored. Started to play mercs I never played before like Rhino. I usually played engineer but got tired of repairing so I just play Rhino and focus on kills and forget about objectives since I have done enough of that.
However, pparently theres some 'interesting" content coming up soon. So something to look forward too.
