Any questions about Brink? You get the answers!

Hey ET:QW community!

Do you have any further questions about Brink? Let me know!

5 guys got the chance to play Brink at the 3rd May at Frankfurt, Germany.
I know 3 of them very well, so it isn’t a big thing for me to get information.
In collaboration with GamingPalace (German Brink Community) we try to release a little report and answers to some questions, which are asked by you!

So let me know your remaining questions. We will pick out the most interesting ones.

Some bad examples for what you shouldn’t ask:

  • How many classes are there in Brink?
  • Is the the Ark the same like “The Ark” from QW?
  • Why aren’t there any Stroggs?

How long does it take for j4b to ragequit from the game?

anyway seriously these are some things i would quite like to know, i bet many have already been answered i just dont have the time to research them:

Is there a similar damage style to ETQW? (from some of the gameplay vids, players seem to die very quickly from like 3 body shots :/)

How easy is it to distinguish between teammate and enemy? (are there red arrows or no arrows etc?)
Do the custom clothing make much of a difference in terms of camouflage on certain maps or barely noticeable?

Are there respawn counters on-screen to allow players to time their pushes?

Am i able to change the colour of my nick / clantag or will i be stuck with standard white? <— MOST IMPORTANT

What is the maximum and minimum amount of characters allowed for a nick? ;D

P.S. Can you please bring your k+m with you and smash the guys in the face if they make you play with a console controller on the PC version.

(Endrew) #5

Is the game fast?

Are the maps big?

Are there any cool abilities for each class?

Pls describe the general feeling when playing Brink

(Ashog) #6

Does teabagging work in Brink?

(Nail) #7

why is this in the QW discussion ?

(Rex) #8

I would like to know the questions of the QW community, not of the CoD or BF community (this would be the case if I will post in the Brink section).

(Apples) #9

Yeah my main concerns are about the speed and the general feeling of the game, in short, is that more a quake clone or a CoD ****e?

Peace

It’s a complete COD ****e.

Others says that’s is a veryyyyyyyy simplified version of W:ET. (gameplay wise, ofc).

PS3 beta is closed since a while now.

(Nail) #14

then, it’s just as well they’re playing the full game on Xbox

(Cankor) #15

Can you bind nades such that they can be equiped instead of a one button throw, including a “gun animation” that shows your hand holding the 'nade (I know you can script this, but IMO the animation is important).

Have them tell any SD guy they see “Thanks for making the PC dedicated servers public!!!”

(AnthonyDa) #16

For now, you cannot rebind this.

(Dthy) #17

Going over this topic, it can be generalised into “How similar to ET:QW is it? (Actual playing, performance etc.)” Also, just like ET:QW, will it have a friends list? ET:QW is the only game i’ve seen with this and i think it’s a superb function.

(AnthonyDa) #18

How similar to ET:QW is it?

Well takes remove all the fun/learning curve from ETQW, adds all COD-like feature you hates and you’ll get BRINK!

Also it’s a steamworks game, so you’ll have your steam friend list ingame.

(Novalis) #19

If I look at the abilities of Operative (Hack), Engineer(Repair), Medic and Soldier (Destroy), I ask myself how much QW-Objective-driven gameplay made it into Brink?
Does the fight “travel” from objective to objective as in ETQW?
What kind of Objectives similar to the MPC deployment or data tranfer (achieveable by all classes) are there? Are the two sides identical regarding abilities?
Is there an upgrade system similar to ETQW with upgrades for one round?
Anybody may disarm HE charges?

You see, I like almost everybody else want to know “How much ETQW is there in Brink”

Regards,

Novalis
