Any ladies in the ET world?

I think you are more likely to find that girls don’t really want to advertise the fact they are female because of the hassle they will most likely get.
Sad fact - players claiming to be female get all kinds of harrasment on servers.
I’d say there’s definately a differnece between public and clan play though, hence why there’s probably a higher proportion of visible female players in clans (where people generally are better mannered, and it adds extra friction to some guys to be ‘owned’ by a girl - psychological advantages in clan matches are great ;)).

I didn’t realise I’d bumped into any actually, used to play a lot on the SENF server when I was in the UK

I’ve been playing online games for quite a while now and haven’t really come across much harrasment. 99% of the comments I get about being female are positive (and I rarely get comments at that). I don’t think i’ve ever heard of anyone complain about being ‘owned’ by a girl, though I’m sure some people don’t notice that I am a female

(G0-Gerbil) #23

If they don’t know you are female they won’t comment
It’s not like girls go on and say ‘Hi, I’m female!’ - and to be honest if they did I’d probably not believe them anyway

It’s like all kinds of prejudice - there doesn’t need to be a lot of it for it to make a big impact.

I did have someone propose to me when playing Q3 cos he thought i was a female owning at Q3. At our peak, my RTCW clan had 8 females. Brought a certain touch of class to IRC and the clan forums.

Raaaaah, reviving a 2 year old topic should be illegal!

(nUllSkillZ) #27

You have been revived by ]ApoC[TGC.

And he isn’t even a medic…

(Loffy) #29

Christa (dk). She has some fragmovies out there aswell, can’t remember the names though. One was “Lord of the Territory” (?).

(]ApoC[TGC) #30

We’ve got some good ol’ fragmovies on our site…

(Loffy) #31

Yes, but none with Christa as far as I can see, although you got another one - the best one ever made, in my humble opinion: “Infensus - the movie” (still it requires that I register to download? Nag).

(]ApoC[TGC) #32

That’s to prevent direct linking. Pm me on IRC and i’ll give you the details.

And a short search showed that over 800 female members are registered at splatterladder.com (or at least they selected “female” as gender in their profile).

I don’t get the idea behind an all girls clan.

This behaviour implies that girls / women have to be separated from boys / men.
Because women aren’t equal to men.

I think women are totally equal to men.
All human beings have special talents indepentend from gender.

Seems like a zoo:
Ohhh, girls also play games.

If there are seperated ligues the community should try to fight for mixed team ligues.

Edit:

May be boycott girls only ligues.

Only positive reason I could think of is to attract more women to gaming.
Not sure if women that are members of mixed clans don’t achieve the same.

I think that is is a reflection of reallife…
Despite men and women being equal most businesses are still run by men just like running a clan.
It seems to be a natural thing, i guess.
There seems to be a natural balance of women hanging out together too… like when going out, shopping, hanging out in general.
So they choose to do that also online… share their interest and giving it it’s girls-approach to it.
(From a first person view on it, since my girlfriend runs G*force, I can say that they do handle things differently with running the clan)

I think it is a natural thing and should be supported as it does generate more women to be involved in gaming and keeps the balance up.

(GlobalWar) #37

it does generate more women

You have a women generator? Never told me that before…

(]ApoC[TGC) #38

Jan… stop being funny. It doesn’t suit you.

(Panzergrenadier) #39

I think http://www.flame-guards.com/ has some girls.

Sorry Michel…just keeping your topic alive :stuck_out_tongue:

To stay on topic…I think FPS is not really a girl game type. There are a few but compared to MMORPG type of games it’s nothing. FPS is (can be) very aggresive and most women do not like that. It has something to do with hormones

Ps. No i am not saying your girl is aggresive!!!
