Any chance of SD salvaging the new Wolfenstein?

(VastShadowz41) #1

Many, many RCTW and W:ET vets have been in agony and ranting against the new Wolfenstein game freshly released today. It must’ve been so terrible because Endrant’s MP team that worked on that portion of Wolfenstein got the boot.

Actually just looking at the leaked final build is terrible enough, and it’s been confirmed that nothing has really changed from that to the retail version. With the MP team gone is there any possibility of SD stepping up and at least having a look at the butchered gameplay? At least make some solid recommendations that the community has been asking for to whatever developers will be working on patching the game now!

We just want multiplayer fixed, the single player is fine as it is.

a pretty unfair question imo, SD has a game of their own to develop and if, after Brink releases, id Software needs help I’m sure SD could be the team if they so choose. Personally, I always hated having to turn someone else’s turd into a diamond. Something I fear happened to Endrant

Even if they could, I doubt they want to after seeing that ‘column’ and its replies. :}

Is this guy really ignorant or does he just convenientely ignore things as a real troll does. Like W:ET failed because of the sub-par single player which SD had nothing to do with?

The comments are great as well

I hope some talented dude will step up and make a playable mod erasing all the mistakes SD made.

Why are you flaming SD about Wolfenstein? SD is working on Brink, not Wolfenstein MP…

Paintrain on 05/08/09, 18:34:36 GMT

Doesn’t matter who develops it, it’s dumb how they acted. Especially if it’s a different developer, it would’ve been even easier to change it the right way.

Damn you SD, for making Wolfenstein MP and for not making Wolfenstein MP!

What kind of a column is that? It’s a crime against journalism; a pointless mix of sarcasm and nonsensical reasoning expressed in poor form with incomplete sentences.

new wolf sucks ;(

(Nail) #7

best description of Whinefire yet, yes it is the epitome of tunnel vision
you could take RTCW, remodel everything into space marines and electro bolt zappers without changing anything else, and they would say it was a cheap ass clone with no redeeming features that didn’t capture ANYTHING that RTCW had

lol whinefire, who actually goes there xD.
Bunch of morons + 12 year old commenting. Somebody should just kick that guy in the face, as said i the above comments, doesn’t seem to know what he’s talking about.

(meisterbrau) #10

lets face it: the new wolfenstein is a avarage game with a less than avarage multiplayer.
i don’t know who’s fault this is: endrant? activision? id? the engine? all i know: the game i have waited for 8 years is a failure.

I couldn’t resist… I had to comment.

There are no wolves in this thread :frowning:

(ailmanki) #13

Ever created something for someone else?

You got great ideas, fantastic designs… but that someone else wants it different, and it shall have the same nice pink as the other games which succeeded this year he will tell you…
/endstory

at least I cannot really believe that those who started developing on rtcw2, wanted what it is now.

(Pegazus) #14

( We should get signatures to close down Whinefire, we don’t need people like them around ^^ )

I don’t like the new wolf MP either, but I will still test it out at my mates place. News have been reached to me that he will be buying it once it reaches the stores at here.

Edit : Paintrain is stupid, whoever tells something bad about SD should deserve to get kicked in the nuts. Honestly…
Edit 2 : Let’s look on the bright side, SP should be awesome

(Slade05) #15

Oh well, and here I was, actually thinking that youtube comments were the absolute bottom.
Now I hope everyone understands what this so-called pro community really is.

(stealth6) #16

I hope that somebody just mods the MP…

Its just a bunch of a 10 year old’s on that site. Should never even bother checking out that site since they are almost all clueless with no IQ. They are just in a temper tantrum that they didn’t get what they want. Don’t know what hard work is.

(murka) #18

WhineFire seems down for me

(DarkangelUK) #19

Apparently all the RTCW and W:ET vets are experts on what makes an MP game, how about you all band together and create your own awesomest game.

Somehow I need to stop myself from bursting into a manic laughter about all those “I want Wolfie instead of these space-what-chumacallits” idiots who crawled out of the woodwork to bash ET:QW whereas they are now drenched into the gruesome reality that their Wolfie can never reach up to their hopes. Ah, all those crushed spirits…

Anyway, that was just my drama side taking over. I can understand their pain, if now only they could have seen it coming. Always expect for the worst and hope for the best - or something like that.

It may sound stange, but wouldn’t this be the time to offer some sales version of ET:QW from a business point of view? Somehow, Valve manages to rack in some cash when they lower their prices for a weekend, couldn’t this work here as well?
I know “the flaw” turns out to be less noticeable on the newest top-of-the-line machines.
