Any Chance of a Wolf:ET Remake?

Hey I was talking to some people I have been playing ET with pretty much since it came out, and we were wondering if there is any chance of a remake of ET?

Quake wars is nice but it doesn’t have the same feel as ET does. Just keep all the settings the same but redo graphics, physics etc… add a few new features and tweek it a tad. I know a bunch of people who would drop the money for that in a second, and i know I would!

Well I’m all up for a remake, but what you suggest is a bit dull. In my opinion it would need to be better accessible, because W:ET is a bit too hardcore right now (might be because I only play ETPRO, forgot how vanilla is like).

I would prefer what Valve did with CS:S and Infinity Ward with Call of Duty 2; better graphics, maps reworked, improvements to accessibility, (in CS:S’ case) new physics, some new maps. Could work out really well if the game is marketed properly too.

I guess you can ask Team Terminator(the creators of True Combat Elite) how/ what they did to improve the ET engine(the new HDR system for example).

If they ever did a W:ET 2 (as opposed to a RTCW 2) I would like to see the single player game concept that was planned but never finished implemented.

if you are after better graphics/physics then perhaps you could try get W:ET source project going. Maby even a CSS mod, with some new guns and tweaked health/damage/acuracy to feel more like ET

although im pretty sure that someone would have something to say about the ownership of the Wolfenstien IP and the ET IP

i’ve read this week that the mp maps for rtcw2 are done. i guess we’ll hear more about it at quakecon. let’s hope it’s a successor to wolf:et, although sd didn’t have their hands on the game from what i know.

Make an ETQW mod!

All you have to do is keep all settings the same and add new graphics, physics, features, and tweeeek it!

Base it on iraq. :slight_smile:
Take the oil the checkpoint so the troops can carry it to the helicopter :smiley:

Yes ET pro is hardcore, but the other modes are far less so. I did say i wanted new physics and features, meaning new maps, options etc…

yea ET is fine as it is but it is its growing a bit long in the tooth and could be far better, with new maps and content too. CS source was a successful remake so why not W:ET2 ?

As for a mod to QW, that game doesn’t feel the same as W:ET at all, and thats the feel I want, its unique. Lol @ wolf modern warfare… COD4 thats a sweet game too.

Hey that sounds great!

If people donate some money ( i would donate 20 € xD)
then maybe splash damage could program a new W:ET maybe W:ET 2 or WET: MW (wolfenstein: Enemy Territory modern warfare :D)

But I think they dont do that because they care more about Quake wars and newer games.
But they are better than iD software because they made a beatiful download and info site dor EThttp://splashdamage.com/wolfet, iD dont posts WET in their Game Index what a shame :frowning:
