Anti Cheat kicks a little too often

(Jostabeere) #41

Well ok, but if I get banned for having AHK scripts running that don’t touch the game in any way at all I’ll fill support with so many tickets the system will crash.
inb4 Ghosthree is a cheater
jk
or not…?
nah, jk

Just got kicked for nothing as well.

Can that stop please? Sure would be awesome. Thanks!
It happened to me once in a couple hours of play and it happened to @scarfino on his stream haha. But this is a new AC and it will have a few issues (which is why it was mentioned in the notes to be patient).

(Fate_Epsii_Epsylon) #43

Yeah, it is kind of irritating since it keeps kicking me out of Comp matches and throws me into a completely new one when i click on Resume.

(It even threw me into a 1vs4 (me being the 1) during all the match placement.

Now i’ve been hit with a 1 day cooldown when I finally gave up on trying to play and exited the game… Plz fix soon… I can’t… take the kick/room hopping anymore…

your ahk cheat scripts cant be used anymore, boo hoo

You know, I get games like this and I don’t get kicked, even when people cry and complain about how hard I am carrying the team or how I am “hacking” or how my “sticky bombs have literally no cooldown at all”. Yea. okay. I think the only time I was kicked was at the very end of my first game of the patch. It was really weird. The game had ended and was doing the whole pan around the map then I was kicked and given the notification that I am a cheater.

EDIT: I am in no way trying to show off. It’s obvious that these were low leveled players and a lot of them I could 1 shot if I stuck them. I am just trying to demonstrate the gap in score.

(bwort110) #46

Played 3 comp matches after patch, no one get kicked. Is that a problem of pubs?

(Ghosthree3) #47

Funnily enough I never got kicked - though I didn’t play for very long - even though tons of people are getting kicked when they shouldn’t.

(Yes) #48

Me neither, I played for a few hours and it didn’t happen to anyone in any of the lobbies I was in.

(TheFlyingNun) #49

hoping this new anti cheat puts an end to the recent surge in aimbotting. Joined a server post-update, and maybe I was just having a good game, but there seemed to be a lot less OP players on each map

Back in ET there were so many cheaters too… Does anyone remember the bots-allowed servers you’d see, where it was ‘who can cheat the hardest’? At least when we were admins of our own servers we could ban them i guess

Keep up the good work SD

(Loki.) #50

played for about 4hrs last night
didnt get kicked
nor did i see anyone get kicked either…

although -
Does it advertise when a person gets kicked?
if it does, maybe someone did and i just didnt notice it…
I played after the maintenance with a friend of mine to take a look at the changes. While we were playing my friend got kicked for game violation. A few rounds later the same happened to me. It caused my game to close. We both are fair players and don’t even use any cheat programm. I hope the staff could take a look at this issue and take care of it.
Sidepoint, camera floats when trying to respawn when pressing spacebar, losing several more seconds per respawn.
It may not have been the anticheat kicking you. Did you actually get a message saying you were kicked by the anticheat or did your game just close suddenly? Right after the patch, my game closed randomly in the middle of a scrim and two minutes later everyone in the server had their game close. We were able to start playing again right away, though, so I think it was just the server acting up.

What I’d like to know is if this anticheat works purely by detecting malicious programs/whatever it is cheaters use or does it also use echo stats kinda like fairfight would?

(Anaconda) #52

This anticheat seems ineffective so far. Played comp today and once again ran into the “instant headshots” hacker. He went something like 90-1.
So much for new anti cheat…

It has been stated a lot of times be4. There is no way to stop cheating, its a fact.
Question is how effective is damage control, eg how fast cheaters are banned, and how effective are prevention methods. And community involvement, of course(like reporting).
Currently DB dosnt have much to show in any of those areas.

(Ghosthree3) #54

What I got from their statement about it being new is that it needs time to collect data on people to look for cheating patterns before it starts handing out bans. Therefore the short term effects are nil, but in a couple of weeks or a month bans might start happening all over the place.

(greatFactory) #55

spot on… and the irony of the story is that they cant even hint to us how long its going to take or what kind of system they are using w/o giving away to much info. because if you know exactly how something works its much easier to counter

this creates a situation where the less informed gamers complain that its not working on day one and the devs cant even reply with a timeline cuz it might reveal what method/methods they are using… sort of a catch 22

that said there has been numerous games where it did fuckall…

but given the frequent uppdates and the dev streams it does seem like DB is a game thats being cared for and im going to put my faith in them …for now

(srswizard) #56

I went 41-1 in a match of objective yesterday, and didn’t get kicked.
The system doesn’t seem over zealous to me, I think most of these kicks being reported, happened because of bugs/ngs crashing, or falsely flagged 3rd party softwares.

(PurpleNurple) #57

It won’t kick you because your score.

(srswizard) #58

I know, but there seems to be a misconception that it kicks you for doing well, or doing certain things, that aren’t forbidden at all.
Just saying that I haven’t experienced anything like that, or any other kicks for that matter, so far.

(Backuplight) #59

Snippet Smooth posted on Reddit, thought it might be of interest to some people here:
Player reports will just mean someone gets investigated, we wont ban someone automatically just because 10 people say so. Those with the most complaints will be looked at first.
We are also working towards an auto-banning system that will use metrics, such as accuracy, to flag up suspicious looking behaviour (just like a player report) and automatically ban impossible behaviour.
(Armuh) #60

Just got kicked from my first game back

Don’t really have an insentive to play the game now…
