Another Suggestion for the Splash Damage Server.

Any chance of the SD server getting a Team Speak server for it on the go,I have a great time there as it is but having a channel to speak on with the cool guys what play there would be even better.,or am I asking too much of the EVIL GITS over at SD

Maybe the MOST EVIL SD of em all ā€œBongoBoyā€ could tell us the answer

Teamspeak is good and very fun to use, be nice to have it on

(Miles Teg) #3

Unfair on the deaf-mutes amongst us. :bash:

Otherwise, could be pretty fun.

(pgh) #4

not alot of peeps would be able to use it and as much as teams are usually one sided as it is it means everyone whos decent, knows about ts, or in a clan will group together in a team giving the others an unfair advantage…

otherwise you could probs just host one yourself?

(blushing_bride) #5

sorry to sound like a noob but what is this thing you are talking about. is it like the voice thing you get with Xbox live? or is it something completly different???

(Salteh) #6

hmm
We [EQ]-ehs ā€œhaveā€ a TS server, but I doubt it’ll go public :o

Teamspeak
:moo: [<-- what a great smiley]

One problem with that is not everyone will be able to use it, either due to not having a mic, or some other issue. It’s good for clans who can make TS a requirement for joining, but using it on a public server means that there will be people on both team who are at a disadvantage.

Harrumph.

It’s an interesting idea. I shall discuss it with the Decision Otter. Maybe we could trial it for a week to see if it’s a Huge Catastrophic Evil or not.

Wraith2k3 makes a good point - it would count against some players, especially n00bz, and I’d like to think that our server is one of the more N00b-friendly…

Some puritan gene within me does kinda like the idea that it’s just completely vanilla. Or perhaps I’m just hungry and vanilla is on my mind…

:moo:

Dont really see why people cant use it,Team Speak client side is a free download and a you can buy a MIC for next to nothing, mine was £4 and ive seen cheaper than that.

Also I was thinking of using it more for having fun on than using it for strategic communicatition.

Theres alot of regs on SD server and for the vast majority of play they end up on different teams ,the games would be so boring if they didnt.

Its just a way of being able to talk to each other during the game,it spices it up alot and you can have a real good laugh on it.

What is the IP addy for the SD servers again? I tried once to get on from an addy posted on here but I think someone goofed with the numbers cuz there was no connection.

As a TeamSpeak promotor I have already spammed this before but there is a special ET dedicated TS server up and running especially for ET.

I can make a registered channel there for the SD server so people can log on to that whenever they go play on that server.

Just need to know how many SD servers there are and make channels accordingly.

To connect directly to the ET teamspeak server (requires having the TeamSpeak client installed) and the SD server channel Click here

Or use this IP:
voice.teamspeak.org:10160

When logged in you can choose the allies or axis subchannel.

Love from the TeamSpeak team

no no no can’t calm down must post must play ET can’t calm down must construct command post medic! are you a covert are you eavesdropping are you are you are you can’t calm down can’t… %$#@%$#@!!!

must… have… coffee…

(skinner) #18

lmao passes twiFight a coffee

(Englander) #19

Thanks for making an SD channel wouter

(wouter) #20

It will always be possible to eavesdrop since we haven’t integrated TeamSpeak in ET. So at this moment there need to be some sort of public IP to connect to. Even if you would use 2 IP’s or different channels our application is too damn flexible to prevent eavesdropping (my keybinding you could easily change servers and channels)

But I guess it’s a good laugh to be able to have a talk with the peeps you play against and with on a server.
