Here’s a new thread about Flak Cannon info since the other one accidentally turned into an art project.

This map is very large. The setting is similar to Radar except for much more varied terrain and an extreme amount of foilage. I suspect that the people who dislike Radar due to FPS will also dislike this map but let me tell you it is a freaking masterpiece! The terrain is extremely uneven with many different pathways winding through a series of many canyons. There is a massive amount of foilage and trees which create hundreds of places to hide and ambush from. This map will be well suited for large teams.
Allies must take control of a forward spawn which can be accessed from several canyon routes. Near this spawn is a vehicle access and Axis team door similar to the Depot gate which must be blown in order to gain entrance into the german base. Another area of the Axis base can be accessed via a seperate canyon and a section of wall must be destroyed by the Allied engineers. This will provide a second route into the german base. Once inside the base, a flak cannon must be destroyed by the allies, however it is repairable. Also inside the base are 2 stores of a special ammo for the flak cannon which will be devastating to the allied Air Force if not completely destroyed along with the cannon. These ammo stores are located behind constructable defenses. Throughout the german base there are many interconnected bunkers and passageways which run through the various hills. There also are several defensive emplacements scattered throughout the map. Some constructable, some permanent.
The quality of the mapwork is stunning (at least to a noob like myself…) I would dare say that this map is easily the equal in quality to any of the stock maps and I would not be at all surprised to see it find its way onto the majority of the public servers. It is still listed as a beta, however I was not able to notice any problems, perhaps it is nearing a final release. As far as frame rate I could not remember the FPS command but it seemed to run just fine for me, YMMV.
I would highly recommend that you clear your schedule, tell your girlfriend that you have to leave town for a day and get over to Fraggers Heaven to see for yourself! I promise that you will not be disapointed.
This concludes my first ever map review. I hope you have enjoyed it. WTF? You are still reading? Get your ass off this board and go play Flak Cannon…
