Analysis of one good PAX East video reveals interesting info

You say to him, “H0RSE, pretty please, have you heard about them putting K/D back into Brink?” Then if he says he doesn’t know, only the devs know because he pretty much knows everything the community knows.

I’m… really not sure of what you’re talking about, but I was saying “Then ask him” as in :
“Use the ingame chat to ask the guy with incredible aim what is his KD ratio.”

Seems simple enough.

(Linsolv) #43

I remarked earlier that I wasn’t necessarily acting on the most recent information, just the most recent I knew of personally. If one wanted the absolute most recent information, they should ask H0RSE.

Then someone said “Well how am I supposed to ask him?!” Answer: He’s a prominent poster on the forums, and if you ask him nicely he’s been known to answer questions. That’s what I was referring to.

Yeah and I said that he doesn’t know himself cause you can’t see your own K/D in ETQW^^

Well anyway, I know that removing K/D is a good thing (or rather, keeping it the way it is in ETQW). That will encourage much more teamplay among the players that are new to SD games.

But surely the more experienced players can handle K/D stats and still focus on the objectives. That’s why I said that I hope I can see K/D on some servers

k/d doesn’t matter in Brink
it goes against their philosophy for their game

(Jess Alon) #46

If you think someone’s really good then take note and try to play on the same team as them in the future. I do that all the time. I never look at anyone’s stats. Because some people have great stats and are total douche bags.

I like when people act like Horse is Jesus and he will only theoretically answer them on some subconcious level. Um. He’s a registered poster just like you dude.

H0RSE (Blessed be his holy hooves) is the holy prophet of SD, chosen to lead us on our chosen path to enlightenment via the holy book, his compendium.

(Linsolv) #49

I’ve spoken to him plenty of times, dude. I’ve just found that his information is reliable and he always seems to have an answer. I’ve been the smartest guy in the room plenty of times. It’s just that this time he’s got his finger on the pulse of Brink in a way I haven’t managed yet, and he’s got better connections to boot.

Oh. That’s strange, I’ve played it Monday, I was able to see my kills and my deaths… ?

(Cankor) #51

where do you see your deaths?

(Striker92) #52

im hoping its like ETQW, see ur deaths and other stats at the end of each map. I agree with ragoo in that every once in a while its a nice change to be in a battle for most kills (while doin objectives still of coarse)

(DarkangelUK) #53

It’s not, it’s been well documented there’s no K/D displayed.

(JeP) #54

People tend to confuse “displayed” and “tracked”.

Cankor : I can’t launch QW this week-end, not being home, but I’m sure I could see them. But you begin to make me doubt :stuck_out_tongue:

You can see your kills by hovering your mouse over the Most Kills medal (thats what those end of match awards were called in the official stats XML pages).

Short of loading a copy of the console log into a program like Dicer’s Data Brain or the other one (can’t rememer the name) available on the web you can’t see your deaths for each map. You can see your total deaths though in your stats page (have to look under clases), so you can figure your cumulative kill/death, but not for any one map (without going to a fair amount of trouble and using a 3rd party app anyway).
