An interesting review...
I missed the interesting part. Anyone “reviewing” a non patched 360 version is automatically dismissed.
You miss a lot huh? The strafing and hip firing info. The speed of the game feedback he was giving. None of that was interesting? The fact that he said he was an rtcw player.
So let me begin by saying I’m an SD vet. My favorite game of all time is RTCW.
As I play more I’ve been getting better at strafing while shooting.
am i the only one who is reading a contradiction?
why has someone to learn how to strafe and shoot at the same time when hes a SD vet? i dont get it.
probably a console thing…
i tend to stay away from people’s opinion. cause in the end its how you the user rate the game.
Reviewing a game on release is a bad thing?? Not sure that makes much sense…
Anyway low res textures on console thats no surprise and bots that are just cannon fodder, well i’m yet to find a game where they are more than just that.
Wait until its released and review it yourself, just because some people don’t like it doesnt mean you will feel the same.

i think it s an even bigger contradiction that he calls himself a SD vet/RTCW fan but bought Brink for his xbox
no console hate here, but seriously… true SD vets will understand that this is kinda odd

Maybe he wanted to try it as soon as possible, and got it for the XBOX since you can get the console versions early?
Gameplay > Graphics.
I know they’re important to talk about, but so long as there is a great game, I honestly do not give a crap if the graphics are not up to par with Crysis.
There are no miracle patches that would make the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions suddenly look that much better. What you see now is what you get. Xbox 360 and PS3 are rather old consoles by now, so it is no surprise that the console versions won’t look good as the PC version.
I have seen both official and leaked videos from the Xbox 360 version and the game looks fine to me. I have always thought that great art direction is better than a fancy looking game engine. Borderlands is way more fascinating game to look at than Crysis 2/Rage/Battlefield 3. The new games like Brink and Deus Ex Human Revolution are clearly not running on the best graphics engines available today, but the great art direction of these two games really sets them apart from others.
Sounds about right.
Us Europeans may complain about getting games a couple of days after Americans, but I can see it coming in handy this time. There should be enough reviews and proper videos to make up my mind by Thursday/Friday, and we’ll know if the 360 patch helps at all.
Is the patch only for 360 and not PS3? Cause if so it kinda reminds me of Castlevania lords of shadow. on 360 at release that game had terrible framerate issues. Or somethign liek that.
I dont give a **** about console reviews…
they always end up ****ty because either the player is bad or they expected their typical console FPS with typical singleplayer campaign.

Amen. I really enjoyed Borderlands with it’s alternate art style. There’s hundreds of games out there trying to be super realistic. Let’s enjoy games that don’t have to be real.
The problem with Borderlands was its ugly environments. Stuff was angular and jagged, not to mention, pretty much totally static. Just felt like running around in a cardboard diorama.
