An interesting review...

I’m wondering how they didn’t catch that bug.

Anyway low res textures on console thats no surprise and bots that are just cannon fodder, well i’m yet to find a game where they are more than just that.

The only problem with this is that Splash Damage’s selling this IP as a viable single player game which can stand up on it’s own merits -Which it does not as of yet look like it does/can.

I have no issue with a game being multi-player only (to be honest that focuses development IMO) but I don’t think many people would buy it at full price…I can’t think of one off the top of my head that has in years.

This maybe true, but like most games it is the review scores that determine if people buy it or not.

Well how do you expect to download it with PS3 anyways lmfao…

Damn, yet another player who got the game early and is disappointed. I still think the game looks amazing, but I think our standards may be a bit too high and Tuesday is going to slap some people in the face. The past few days I’ve just had a bad feeling sinking in. I guess I’ll see Tuesday. Please let this game be amazing. I have faith SD.

I like the term “Mingle-Player” and both it, and “Blurring the lines…” are more marketable terms than “Contextualized Multiplayer” - but I think the last in the list will probably end up being the most accurate. I look forward to finding out for myself.

As for the review. I thought it was interesting. I am not afraid of criticism of the game, and basically, aside from the comments on graphics, lag, and bots, it was a glowing review. Exedore himself said that something to the effect that the host in the P2P console games would have a distinct advantage. Hopefully not like a Gears of War God Mode advantage, but P2P always has considerable lag.

Has a day 1 patch actually been confirmed? Everyone keeps linking to that same site I have never heard of before as the only source for that info.

DOH! Just found the Dev confirmation post here.

Thanks for the reply, a very interesting read and I agree with what you are saying.

Does the game have single player written on the back of the box (I have no idea if they do that on the back of game boxes now days)? If so then I am afraid it does need to be judged as such as it has been marketed for that purpose. I could also quote Paul from interviews saying this is a single player game which you can also play on-line with.
