How about a new map function where you could press a separate “find location” key and then type in the location, and that would open a smaller map with the particular coordinates centered in it?
You could set the transparency of the map, zoom level, and how long it would remain visible in the player setup.
It would be useful for all classes I think. Imagine a medic responding to a call. He hears it, reads the chat message, and hits x,f,5 and a semi-transparent map pops up with that location centered in it that lasts for 2 seconds and then disappears. Pressing the find location key twice would re-display the last coordinates viewed.
I think that would be great for navigation since you would still be able to move and the map would turn off all on its own.
Its just an idea I had.
