Ammo ability swapped on Skyhammer and Arty :(

Skyhammer
Swapped Ammo and Airstrike slots around to be consistent with other mercs
The default keys are now E for Ammo and Q for Airstrike

Arty
Swapped Ammo and Artillery slots around to be consistent with other mercs
The default keys are now E for Ammo and Q for Artillery

Arrghh why!!! I’ve been playing for years games that have things like medic packs and ammo packs as being assigned to the same button and now they have been swapped on dirtybomb meaning that if i play arty or skyhammer I am now throwing airstrikes down at my feet and on my team mates instead of ammo packs. I can’t swap the button as that would then break mercs like sawbones etc instead.

So i am now unable to play them as I need medic and ammo packs the same button. Can we get some option to change this to how it was before?

Can’t you rebind the keys to your liking? It could be the solution you’re looking for.

No because ability 1 keybind can not be medic pack and ammo pack any more.

This is the worst deliberate change from last patch.

Ideally I’d like to be able to bind these keys per merc, failing that, put them back to how it was before.

aye my muscle memory is proving difficult to reprogramme, probably age related, but i’m having to consciously think about the button to press - never good. I’m sure it will be fine eventually, just in time for the keys to get swapped back or something :stuck_out_tongue:

When I switched from Medic to Field Ops and I wanted to drop an ammo pack, I threw an airstrike. Luckily FF is not activated …

Caught myself out with that SO many times when playing on Saturday. Luckily I didn’t let go of the Q button and switched weapons before I released it. Sure FF is off but I didn’t want to waste my charge :smiley:

yes, very strange change.

medpack = ammo = throwing good stuff for ur team

airstrike = molotov = grenades = throwing bad stuff at ur enemies.

Been away and unable to play the latest patch yet, but it sounds as if they broke the abilities binds on Skyhammer and Arty instead of fixing Stoker like we’ve been asking for a while :frowning:

I still don’t like the hot keys. I want to browse a weapon bank and hold the item I’m about to use.

How? Where are my clippers and grenades? Where’s all the ability stuff other than underneath that hotkey?

Press 4 or 5, alternatively set wespon switch-mode to “All” and use scrollwheel, of course you can’t pre-select pliers anymore though, that’s F key only.

Hum… I haven’t unlocked him yet since the new patch to confirm, but last time I played him his ammo & AoE slots were inverted compared to Arty and Skyhammer. Unless I missed an earlier swap for Stocker (didn’t really play him in the previous patch), if they have now inverted the other 2, then aren’t they all the same now and all inconsistent with the medics as far as the binds for dropping packs / deploying stations are concerned?

Guess I’ll see for myself in a couple of levels…:o

Well you are correct, but I don’t see his molotov in the same category as airstrikes, airstrikes are slow and take their time to arrive, where as molotov is pretty much the same as a grenade where instant fast throwing is needed.

For me it would go something like this:

[li]Grenades including Mollys (very fast speed) [/li][li]Medpacks (medium speed) [/li][li]Ammopacks (medium speed)[/li][li]Defibs (medium speed)[/li][li]Mines (medium speed)[/li][li]Airstrikes (slow speed)[/li][li]Health deployables (slow speed)[/li][li]Ammo deployables (slow speed)[/li][li]Turret (slow speed)[/li][li]Wall (very slow speed)[/li][/ul]
Where each character character has upto two, starting from the top the first one in the sequence would be the primary ability and the second in the sequence would be the secondary ability.
