Alright, I'm Done......Now Where's My DLC?

(Zekariah) #1

Finished my Achievements. Took my time, worked through 4 level 20s specializing in each class, left soldier for last to gain ‘It’s a Trap!’ as my last Achievement. Have had some great games with new players I’ve met and some absolutely horrific games with nothing but bots.

Now I’m getting bored…

People tell me to work on 4 more characters or at least two that specify on two classes, or at least one multi-classer. Frankly, doesn’t sound like much fun. I’ve earned and used every ability in the game.

I know new scenarios can pop up in different games, but there’s little of that and a whole lot more “same old” stuff.

Many gamers have knocked over the achievements AGES ago and there’s a few that have knocked over 10 lvl 20s (nodding to Lago). I knew we would have to wait at least some time for DLC so I took my time.

But this game does not seem to be designed for longevity in its current state. DLC is a MUST for this game as there is no campaign to switch between MP and the challenges get REAL old REAL quick.

Please! For the love of Mod! Bring on the DLC! Surely MS have given some idea of a release date!

MS are about as talkative as Bethesda when it comes to dates.
It’ll be along soon, especially if Bethesda bothers to hurry them up (apparently the bigger publishers have more weight when it comes to the certification process).

Hopefully soon? sigh It’ll be along shortly.

(Lozmuir) #3

Usually the case unfortunately…

And I agree, I’m ready for the DLC now.

(Petrolbomb_Tom) #4

Who says that Microsoft is holding up release date?

(Smoochy) #5

i prefer my jack of all trades guys. i swap class all the time in-game and i have the best toys. i have 2 ‘jack of all trades’ guys and each has slightly separate abilities.

single class just seems daft to me, i have 4 characters. 2 jacks and 1 op/medic and 1 sold/engi. seems to work the best for me

do you only play to level up? that seems silly to me. i just started extra ones so when the DLC is out i will have 4 level 20 chars to play more with.

(BiigDaddyDellta) #6

I was hoping to see a post this morning about it being out  it’s only a holiday in the states after all.

(Zekariah) #7

Yeah, everyone is getting me psyched up for Tuesday (which is in 2hrs here), but I’m definitely not confident…even for Tuesday in the states. You think we would have heard something by now.

(BiigDaddyDellta) #8

something at all.

(zenstar) #9

It’s a holiday for the MS certification crew too :frowning:

No, it’s not like I won’t play anymore. But now there are no real “goals” in the game. Playing for fun is great and all, but yes, I am a level-holic. Thanks to Halo and Gears, i just want to keep seeing a progress bar go up and/or more things to unlock (even if just for aesthetics). It keeps thing fresh.

I still will enjoy jumping on for the odd few games here and there, but I won’t be an avid player like I have been. I’m gravitating back to Reach until Gears 3 comes out. I’m only a Colonel in that and am working my way to Brigadier to unlock the Gungnir Helmet. See? Goals.

I really hope the DLC comes with some more achievements. New maps are awesome, but I love striving for something in-game.

(BiigDaddyDellta) #11

If it was to come out today or tomorrow the certification would be well over with.

Woohoo! So with all achiements done and 10 lv20 you might want to go for the next challenge and build a competitive team with your friends!

Clans are really needed…

Drop me a note if you want to scrim ( 5v5 )!
/me is so desperately looking for teams to play against…

Yeah, was gonna join a clan. But to be honest, I just wouldn’t be able to fulfill gametime requirements. Can’t get on as much as I used to. Besides, Aussie clans are few and far between and VERY exclusive, and US clans are way too much of a difference in timezones.

I just try to keep up with a few gamers I’ve met on the forums.

Well I had a nice guy with a 400ish ping on a server recently  The aussie got confused by my [AUT]-tag…

Been a long time since I experienced confusion about Austria and Australia

I completely agree. I much prefer having goals to work towards as opposed to just playing for the hell of it. Even if these “goals” don’t mean anything much at the end of the day, it’s still nice knowing you’re going to unlock something the more you keep playing.

i know what you mean, i enjoy levelling up too. but back in the good days you would play games for years that didnt even have unlocks. games like UT were down to skill, not loadouts or abilities/perks etc.

i like playing with my level 20s but i wanted 4 level 20s so they can all be different.

(TruGamer97) #17

I was really hoping it would release today:(

(FireWorks) #18

The other patches were released at the late afternoon, early evening for CET. Maybe in 2-3hours we got our DLC

I did the same as you, made 4 specialised classes to start with but you’re kinda limited once you’re in game. I think I’ve had more fun changing classes on the fly with a jack-of-all trades character, although I do miss some of the higher rank abilities I can only afford on specialised classes.

It would also be nice to have something to aim for after 20. Not too important but why not

(FireWorks) #20

I got 10 20s and still like the game… Get a clan going! Its fun^^
