I have to say that the orange pictures above were giving a better effect, though I don’t really like it… Maybe a dim orange as fog would give a nicer effect to the new one?

Pure grey fogs never look that natural.
Maybe somewhere in between the two? Of course a lot of it’ll come down to your choice of actual skybox - you have 2 choices:

  1. Blend in the overall colour scheme (pros - looks more natural, cons - maps are a bit monotone)
  2. Contrast it massively (eg blue skies, or red daw etc) (pros - makes map a bit more varied, cons - can look out of place).

The decision is yours!

What I’d do, if I could get the bloody thing to work properly, would be to have orange fog, and have the ground and mid horizon of the sky ornage too, and above it another coloured sky, with animated clouds (probably very subtly in this case).

Haven’t posted anything new in a long time… been playing with lots of ideas. Drastically changed the way I thought the rest of the map was going to be. Instead of a Desert Temple kind of tank run (mostly because of weird terrain glitches) I’ve decided (and for the better) to start off Axis with their beach landing right at the busted walls of a palace. They’ll repair a broken tank and escort it down the long windy halls of the palace till it blows open a gate to a stair case leading to the adjacent fortress that the palace shares its walls with (the big dark building you’ve guys been seeing). However, this staircase wont be enough to faciliate a full atack by the axis and they’ll have to breach the well works of the palace to get outside the walls to the tiny village outside the walls where they can try to enter the fortress a few more ways (one the scafolding in the bottom picture) and the main entrance. From here on Axis will try and claim their final forward spawn point and go for the main objective (whatever that maybe) in the back of the fortress near the Allies final spawnpoint.

**Note: Palace is no where near done and will probably be just as large as the other building. I just really wanted to upload some pics :slight_smile:

Looks absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to play it. To be honest I thought the sky in the second set of screenshots was the best, gave a really nice sunset effect. (Not the screenie with the holodeck).

Hate to say this, but don’t the towers look a tad phallic? Maybe that’s the look you were going for. Anyway, looks completely stunning, makes me want to give up learning to map.

I love the architecture, but the textures look fairly bland and repetitive.
Still, whatever, it’ll certainly have a unique feel to it :slight_smile:

I think I’ve got my skyhow I want it; so now I’m going to go add lights to the inside of the new section (the palace). Then its vis work, obj work, and scripting and what not here on out.

Nice terrain added Neotic!!!, this one looks like its almost ready for some fun, the sky is perfect for this kinda map…So we have an idea, about what percentage is done on your map???
