The only issue I’m personally seeing here with the nerf is that with the now universal turn-rate slow while attacking with melee it makes the Katana an unviable weapon in most cases unlike how it used to be. That’s the only part that presents an issue, I can still use my cloak for flanking just fine but then again I play relatively low level ‘casual’ games.

the most vocal people who want nerfs are just simply unaware of the stuff going on around them, and if i didn’t know what was going on and got prompty stabbed by super space ninja man, i’d be slightly mad, but that’s just their problem
Universal turn rate slow down sucks and just made it more effective to shoot downed players till they’re dead so you can avoid that awkward slowdown that is likely to get you killed.

Well, for me phantom does have a unique gameplay among every mercs here.
It’s very like playing in a MOBA. The merk could be in “overwatch” game.
I didn’t played him since the update. But among low levels, it will reduice the numbers of low level doing well with it. If you use your brain and are skilled, you will continue to make people mad

The thing about making it more effective to shoot downed players is that it takes longer (debatable with the new turn limiter) and if you don’t have easy access to ammo, it’s a waste of said ammo.

Having been on both ends of the super space ninja stabbing (Warframe anybody?) I can say it can be frustrating but if you just pay attention it’s not an issue, not complaining about it but the new invisibility reworks make phantom so much easier to see.

Did you know dislikes doesn’t count for righteousness or accuracy in a certain matter? Did you know children are usually frustrated at their parents for dishing out punishments, and they are likely to “dislike” in the current situation?

What the fuck are you talking about and why did you quote me? Your post doesn’t really address my post at all. But I will try to explain anyway. By Phantom noobs, I mean people that are noobs and were able to still do quite well because of the low skill floor of Phantom.
I played Phantom exclusively for the first week he was out to test. My conclusion: The design was broken. Low skill floor, low skill ceiling. Too easy for noobs to get on and wreck other noobs with no need to aim, have awareness or any tactical positioning. And no role in competitive play. Just flat out broken in every way.
High level comp thought he was fine? Then why the hell will nobody use him in comp? Simple, he’s useless in comp. He’s not fine, at all. What I have suggested would give him a role in pub and comp without the idiot noob stompiness he had before the nerf.
Now? He still has the same design flaws but now noobs don’t do well with him. They made the nerf that required the smallest amount of thought or effort because of the backlash they were experiencing from the community. Would have been better for them to temporarily remove him and actually design him the right way instead of rushing out a terrible nerf.

First of all, this is the outmost load of rubbish ive seen in a while. If youre skilled, then you find a way to make best in the worst situation. But lamers, like some, will be whining simply because merc has been dialed down on a more mangeable level, making him comparable to other mercs.
Hes not unplayable, hes just require a bit of effort now, and some actual skill, to play. Instead of just tanking and slashing every1.
While nefring melee turn rates is not exactly what i had in mind(nor even ever thought about) when i was thinking about how Phantom should be, im not to discard this change as bad just yet, its simply 2 early to tell what will be results of it.
And drop all that “whiny and very vocal minority” crap, youre just embarrassing yourself. Neither you nor any1 from pro-Phantom faction represents majority of players, and the fact that Phantom got nefred means that there is a lot more people who consider Phantom being unbalanced, than those who do not. And no amount of demagogy will change that. If anything its you and people like you who are “whiny and vocal minority”.
