Just curious…is there a way to decrease Akimbo rate on the Server side admin in my ShrubMod? Or is the rate already set when you reach a Level? Thanks.

ShrubMod or not, is there any way to limit Akimbo rate it ET? I’ve seen script that will empty both clips in under a second - faster fire rate than MG-42… seems a little insane for a hand gun.

There’s a script that will simulate hitting your Fire button quicker than you can actually physically do it, which has the effect of increasing the Akimbo Pistol’s rate of fire. However, as you only get Akimbo’s at Level4, and you rarely get to Level4 on Stopwatch servers (which are all I play on), then I don’t really care. I haven’t had Akimbos for months and am damn proud of it :wink:

Having said that, I seem to recall reading something about ETPro fixing this “bug”, and as I only play on ETPro server I guess I’d never have to experience this anyway.

Either way, there’s no server side setting (that I know of) that can reduce the Akimbo Pistol rate of fire, to answer the original poster’s quesrtion.

hehe… Well, I’m going to try and duck the first punch :wink: You can do the samething WITHOUT using a script. Yes. I said without. Just go somewhere and buy a very cheap mouse. Then, after using it for an hour or two, the buttons will get to the point of barely making contact. Double tap it and you get 4 or 5 shots :wink: I’ve used the scripts before to do this and the one thing that I have noticed is that your aim decreases very switly. About the only thing it’s good for is if you sneak up behind someone and shoot them in the back of the head. Try using it in a firefight and you’ll get pwnd very quickly.

There a few different things that people tend to confuse:

  • by design, you can fire the pistols faster by clicking the button faster, rather than holding it downr. There is supposed to be a limit as to how much you can gain this way.
  • because of a bug, you can fire the akimbos really fast, using a script. Maybe a broken mouse too.
  • because of bugs or lag, you can get the sound effect/animation without firing at all.
