Admin Commands Suggestions

There is no reason why a an admin should have to baby sit a server if the admin server software is any good.

You had awesome admin commands in Tribes and Tribes2 software for the game. it was automatic. IE Here are just “Some” of many examples:

  1. You could turn on or off Bad Language. if you said a bad word more than 3 time it would eather kick or ban you. Admin was able to configure it in server config file.

  2. Turn off/on team balance. Admin was able to configure it in server config file.

  3. Turn off/on team damage. Admin was able to configure it in server config file.

  4. Setup the number of TK for Kick or Ban player. Admin was able to configure it in server config file.

  5. Turn off/on Tournament Mode. Admin was able to configure it in server config file.

  6. Setup the number of vehicles on each team and type.

  7. Setup the number of Weapons on each team and type.

  8. Setup AFK time for users: IE: I setup my server if a user was AFK for more than 5 mins it would auto kick you off the server.
    and so on and so on. There were alot of awesome admin tools for For Tribes and Tribes 2

So imho there is no real need to have an admin baby sit a server. The server software should be able to do it without the need of an Admin being present 24 hours a day.

The best Admin Tools were made by a 3rd party called Tricon.

Remember! The Admin is only as good as the tools the developer has provided the admin with.

I guess you’ve never played Enemy Territory, all that and more available in server cfg

Really? I did not think it had a AFK time limit on users

well out of date but not much has changed rlly

some of your options require a server-side mod to an extent, though often there’s good argument for limiting the extent admins can customise a vanilla server - at least initially. Personally I think player speed and other core gameplay setting changes should be restricted to a mod, for example.
